March 30, 2008

I LOVE MY COUPON BINDER! Yes, I look like a freak with a school binder open in the child's seat of the cart, but I don't care. I found Children's Dimetap for 50% off unexpectedly today and had another $1 coupon which, because of the binder, I had right in front of me in the "MEDS" tab - so yay! Plus, there was a woman scrounging with me in the freezer section with a handful of coupons and as she glanced at my binder I could just tell how jealous she was - hahaha. OK, maybe not, but still - in my head she was green with envy. One good deal of the week was 4 boxes of Cheerios for $4 and each one has a coupon on the box for $1.50 off Pampers. Score! The other was 2 boxes of Kix for 40 cents each.

Don't know if I mentioned a recent quote from Jocelyn last week - "hey mom, I'm driving you crazy! Am I killing you?"

Just as Jesse's face was starting to heal and appear almost bump free, he ran head on into me and my glasses cut him right above the eye. So now he's scarface again!

Morgan had a rough week. He's also been sniffling a lot so we're guessing allergies. I got him some Claritin today (was going to get children's but they were out - lucky for me the adult's version is for children 6 and up and since I had my binder with me, I could switch to the appropriate coupon). So we'll start him on that tonight and see if that helps.

Timothy got his report card on Friday. Our routine is that I read it, tell him how good it is, then he asks to see it and tells me everything that's on it No, informing him that I already read it doesn't help. It was good though and his handwriting even moved up from needs improvement to barely passable, or whatever the scale is. He gets Es and E+s in most things (what is up with today's scoring system??) and then a handful of As which means he's working at the next grade level. For standardized testing, his creative writing has improved to above average and the rest are in the walks on water category.

Jesse finally did a jump where both feet came off the ground - yay! He also slept through the night a whole week in a row - has that ever happened before?!?! Today Jocelyn was playing with those plastic oreo cookies that fit into each other and Jesse pulled it apart to lick the cream filling. He was a bit surprised that it was not a real cookie, but once he figured that out he started *pretending* to eat it and then saying "yum yum!" HystericaL

Jocelyn's decided it's her mission in life to make sure Jesse doesn't get to actually play with any toy in the house. She follows him around ripping toys out of his hands and making him scream. Today he came tearing across the house with his plastic oreos pressed to his chest and jumped into my lap. She was close behind with her hands out yelling "JESSE GIVE ME THAT COOKIE". Safely in my lap he stared her down as if to stick out his tongue. After a reminder about sharing she retreated.
