Life has just been very busy. I continue to work way too much. I really apologize to those of you who have yet to receive thank-you notes (or at least emails) from Timothy (which would be anyone who sent a gift!) - I'm afraid I haven't made time to walk him through the proper thank you note. It's still on the to-do list though!
Last weekend Susan and Jonathan and Jeremy visited for the weekend. We met Susan and Jonathan in Mystic on Thursday the 2nd and they treated us all to a day at the aquarium. We received Susan's pictures of the event and the weekend, and there are some really great shots - my favorites were one of Jesse laughing on my shoulder, Morgan lying on my back in the front yard, and several great shots of us doing sparklers. I'll try to get some posted later tonight. I had been having trouble with my iPhoto program and spent several hours doing a disk repair yesterday which said it didn't work but now iPhoto is working again, so there you go.
The kids really enjoyed having everyone here. Jocelyn still insists on calling Jonathan by his first name, which I think he let slide because she also liked to sit with him while he davenned.
Jocelyn had a lunch play group with Miss Dana this week where she and the other little girls wrote a story about princesses. Miss Dana had set it up Mad Libs style for the girls to fill in the words and then emailed us all a copy of it. Jocelyn (or should I say PRINCESS Jocelyn) loved hearing a story with her name in it! Very creative on Miss Dana's part, we still just love her to pieces.
Timothy had baseball camp this week. One kid forgot his lunch on the first day and Timothy offered him half of his. Yeah, he's a good kid. Besides a complete lack of being able to run, he had a good time and got some good workouts.
Morgan didn't get any notes from school this week, but I assume no news is good news.
Jesse cracks me up - his new thing is that if he's awake when I get up in the morning, he wants to get in the shower with me. He stands in the corner and holds his hand out into the water. It's adorable. Oh, and I don't know if I mentioned it, but he can burp on command now, and doesn't understand why I can't.
I don't know how many of you heard about the excitement we had in the neighborhood this week with the guy who kidnapped his wife and held her hostage all day. She escaped then he lit his house on fire and managed to stay in it 3 hours and finally came out. He was supposed to turn the house over to her per their divorce agreement that day. Josh went down and watched the whole thing. I listened from our deck to the police yelling "RICHARD, YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE, COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP". It was quite a night! At one point they cut our internet and our power, and I managed to gouge my shin looking for a flashlight - ouch.
This weekend my friend Beka and her family came for a visit. Her oldest is almost 3 and then she has a new baby. The kids were all mesmerized by the baby! It was really cute - they were performing for him, making funny faces and such. He was a super good baby - he didn't even cry the whole time he was here (I can't say the same thing for my kids!). Anyway, we had much fun.
Morgan's birthday is fast approaching. He's so hard to buy for! But we got him a netbook (I found an AWESOME deal on Amazon) and I also got him a trampoline from my parents (He's outgrown the one we have, which I think has a limit of 50lbs). I'll pick up a few little things - like he likes those things with all the pins that you make the impression of your face with. Not sure what I'll do for a cake since he doesn't like cake. Maybe icecream bars or hostess cupcakes.
