A week ago a woman on my mommy board lost her baby unexpectedly due to birth complications. At full term. Her first. It took her 4 years to conceive him. I think of her today and how raw and painful and heart breaking it must still be for her and I can't help but cry. Cry for her and for so many other moms missing their babies and children. And I cry because I don't know what I would do if it happened to me and can't even bare the thought. I feel so lucky for what I have. I don't know what I did to deserve it but it must have been something really terrific.
Other than thoughts of my poor eFriend, it's been a nice weekend. Despite the warehouse of food in the house, Josh took the kids out and picked up Appleby's for dinner and now I'm trying to keep from slipping into a food coma, especially since we have ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery for dessert! Josh and the kids brought me cards and gifts and coffee in bed. Jocelyn painted me a little mini plant pot and Timothy wrote me a poem. All were excited to give them to me! Yesterday we went to the playground for a bit, also fun.
Jesse managed to maintain his nickname of scarface this week by face planting into the driveway and scabbing over a big stripe down the middle of his face. It's mostly healed except for a remaining Hitler-style mustache of scab.
Jocelyn threw a tantrum this morning when I offered her some blue pants because she wanted to wear her "pretty pink dress". And so it begins! However, while I was at the grocery store she drew some pictures for me and handed them to me screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!" when I got home - haha.
Morgan's started chewing the neck of his shirt until there's a nice wet ring around the collar - very attractive! I forgot his Claritin Thursday and Friday nights - ooops! He was pretty sniffly after the playground, I think the pollen is pretty bad these days.
Timothy has his spring concert for orchestra and chorus tomorrow night. Then next Saturday is the big day - he's getting his junior black belt!
I guess that's about it from here - no big news really. I hope all the moms out there had a great day - special Happy Mother's Day to Debbie on her first Mother's Day!
