Well I did it! All 5 mornings this week I got up at 5:15 (ok, some times 5:22 after hitting the snooze) and ran. Between those 5 days and Sunday, I did 15 miles. On the last day I ran the whole 2.88 miles without stopping (which took me 32 minutes so I won't be headed to the Olympics any time soon). Yay me! I managed to take off all the vacation weight plus an extra pound and I'm back in the swing again. Then yesterday Josh and I went out and played tennis for close to an hour. Boy was I sucking wind! Plus my arm was so tired by the end I couldn't get it over the net any more. Josh wasn't even breathing hard, stupid huge men and their huge lungs. But we were both sweating like pigs. My back hand sure got a workout as that seems to be where Josh likes to hit it, which was fun at the beginning and then by the time my hair looked like a poodle in the rain I was yelling at him that he was doing it on purpose and was clearly going straight to hell for it. I almost had to crawl to the car.
Funny though, 6 courts at the elementary school (the ones at the junior high were under construction) and when we got there in the early afternoon, not a soul in sight. There are 3 cages of 2 courts each, we picked the middle cage. After a bit 2 teenager girls showed up to play in the first cage. Then a bit later 2 20-something couples showed up to play mixes doubles in the 3rd cage. Well I guess they only remembered 1 ball between the 4 of them because the 2 guys went home to get them. During this time one woman bounced the ball with her racket while the other laid down to sun bathe. The teenagers were pretty good - they took a break after 20 min but then started up again. The 20 something guys finally returned and started to play. One guy had to shoo his girlfriend from standing directly in front of him as he was about to serve. Cracked me up.
Timothy and Morgan both had doctor appts this week. Timothy is 4' 10.5" and 97 Ibs. Wow! Morgan is 4'6" and 92lbs. Wow again! Timothy went in all by himself to his appt. He's all grown up! The doctor was complimentary as usual, about both boys. When I asked Jocelyn what she did the day of Timothy's appt, she described it like this:
"I went to Timothy's doctor and ran around and played with toys and said wheeeeee and then daddy was sad because of the noise so I read a magazine."
Jesse is one little copy cat. Everything has "too" on it. And now he can take his diaper off! So we end up with a naked Jocelyn and a "maked too!" Jesse for the better part of most days.
School starts on Wednesday, including preschool for Jocelyn. I'm so excited! I imagine I won't sleep Tuesday night. I'll work from home on Wednesday so I can at least witness the leaving and coming home. Plus Timothy says he's not too old for me to wait for the bus with him and definitely wants me there, awww. I had been buying various school supplies as they went on sale and ended up with everything they needed except erasable pens. Erasable pens, so dumb - they don't erase so what's the point?! So I paid too much for some of those and now everything's all good.
I guess that's about it from here. Not a lot of news with the kids since they mostly just spend their days driving Josh crazy, so same ol' same ol’ - boy is Josh looking forward to Wednesday!!
