July 20, 2008

2 weeks until vacation! oh I can't wait. It's been a long week, a long month! Work is kicking my butt - it's a lot of new stuff all at once.

Jesse is such a little chatterbox these days. A whiner, but still, a chatterbox. Today Tim and his family visited and while Jesse had no problem when I was holding baby Adam.  When Josh was holding him, Jesse came to me and pointed at the baby and said "share daddy?" He wanted to also get held by daddy. awwww.

Baby Adam is such a good baby! He was quiet the whole time he was here despite the other kids being rather loud. Jocelyn and Ethan fought over the scooter and pretty much everything else. Jocelyn still hasn't got the hang of sharing. Then Ethan gave her a kiss goodbye and she screamed, which at first I thought was because she didn't want a kiss, but then when they were leaving she yelled "I DON'T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE!" awww again! Despite the frequent fighting there were periods of really cute playing with Jocelyn running around the house with Ethan and then Jesse running behind. It was pretty adorable!

Mom and Dad visited Friday night and my kids decided to have a competition as to who could be the loudest. Or perhaps collectively they were trying to break the sound barrier. What a raucous!! But Saturday morning we had a breakfast birthday party for Morgan which was fun.

Timothy and Morgan both got haircuts yesterday. Usually I buzz Timothy's hair and then cut Morgan's, but Morgan hates it and it's really hard, so I decided to try the buzzer on Morgan too. He sat quietly and didn't give me a hard time at all (before I started I turned on the buzzer and put it on his hand to show him it didn't hurt). So now his hair is so short!! I don't think it's ever been this short. I keep walking into a room and thinking he's Timothy - it's creepy. From the profile they are practically identical, and size wise they are close (Timothy is 5 inches taller and 5lbs heavier, but that's not the biggest difference from a distance).

Anyway, Morgan definitely looks better with a little longer hair, but he now likes to pat his own head, and also this will last longer before the next haircut.

We had bark mulch delivered this week and managed to get the part that's ready for it put down. I have more garden cover to clear out but didn't get to it this weekend. Then we'll put the rest down. We're totally getting there though. I've been working about 11 hours a day, which with commute means I'm gone about 7am - 7pm, so it's been rough on Josh. Everyone is hanging in there - it's a temporary thing. Once I figure things out better at work there will be busy time but not so much all in a row.

Jocelyn had another fun week with Miss Dana and the 2 little boys in her library play group. She told me she drew a Z. Dana said that she drew all the letters on a dry erase board and was VERY proud of herself. She brought home her name that Dana had drawn in pencil and Jocelyn had gone over with different colored markers. She loves it. She's going to love school so much!

Well, that's it from here - about time to start making the packing list for vacation!!
