February 28, 2010

We lost Grandma Thel this week and Josh is gone to MI today for the funeral.  He'll be home late tonight - in and out in one day.  Makes for a long day for him, and fairly long for me too!  It took me all day to find the vegetable oil, so I made the anticipated breakfast of pancakes for dinner instead.  By the time I gave up on finding the oil in time for breakfast, it was lunchtime so we had beef stew that Josh made last night for us for dinner.  So on average, it worked out.

Jocelyn has a renewed interest in dolls and has been playing with them all weekend. Last night when I went to tuck her in on the way to bed I found her in bed with 4 or 5 of them and the rest wrapped in blankets together on the floor.  She says she has a baby family and she loves taking care of them.  Today I cleaned out my office and found some newborn diapers, so she put them on her babies and every once in a while during the day she would jump up and say her baby needed her diaper changed and run off with it.  She also wore my maya wrap around with the baby in it.  Just adorable.

Jesse wouldn't go to school on Tuesday.  He started to cry when it was time to go in and said he would miss Josh.  He had never done this before, so Josh didn't make him go.  But truth is, he's started having separation issues in the last few weeks and seems like that's all it was because he couldn't say any reason for not going to school other that he would miss Daddy.  So on Thursday Josh shoved him in despite his balking and he was fine once there.  Mrs. Gerber told Josh that Jesse has the best physical coordination she's ever seen in a child, and she's been there since before Timothy was in her class!

Timothy's palette expander popped off one of his teeth on Friday and he had to go in and have it re-cemented Saturday morning.  It didn't bother him so much Friday night that he couldn't go to the dance though.  So he went to the dance and tore it up on the dance floor.  A couple 8th grade girls had made plans to meet up with him there, and they did, and I guess they stuck with him all evening.  He had a lot of fun. Then Saturday he had his final basketball game of the season - which they lost, again.  No wins this season at all!

Morgan happened to catch a glimpse of Timothy's expander while Josh was tightening it last night and became fascinated with it.  He kept walking up to Timothy and opening his mouth really wide and looking up, trying to get Timothy to do the same thing.  Then when Timothy did, he would reach in and touch it.  It was so funny!  When Josh used the tool to tighten Timothy's expander, Morgan stood next to Timothy and asked for a turn.  Then he stood still with his mouth open and let Josh put the tool in his mouth too!  It was cracking me up.

Well I have to go hem some pants.  I bought all the boys suits for Passover this year. Morgan's size 16 barely barely fits at the waist but is about 5 inches too long.  I bought the same size for Timothy and it fits him fine and I could either hem it about half an inch or more likely leave it.  I got Jesse a 4 and it's a little big but at least doesn't fall down, but needs to be hemmed a few inches - I'm hoping his will fit next year too.  I also got them all button downs with clip on ties!  Hee hee.  Jocelyn's going to wear the flower girl dress that I found her at the Salvation Army while we were on vacation last summer.  They will all look adorable for about 10 min!
