July 6, 2008

Gooooood afternoon everybody! It's been so nice having a 3 day weekend!! Friday we have my friend Beka and her husband and son over for a play date, which was fun. Yesterday we were supposed to go see our friend Tim and his new baby and some other family members of his, but things fell through at the last minute (literally - we were on our way to the car!). Since we were already dressed and ready to get in the car, we took the kids to Kid City Children's Museum in Middletown. It was a little crowded and it's amazing how some people let their kids be jerks in public and do nothing about it, but we still had a really good time and Jocelyn cried like you wouldn't believe when we left.

Today we called Uncle Joey and asked if he could watch the kids for 45 min while we ran out to get a new couch because holy eye sore, I can't take ours any more. Ran over to Bob's and got one much like the one we have now but mirror image. Our salesman was a real pip - good ol' Paul. He was giving us the hard sell on "goof proof" - their stain guard protection plan where they protect it but if you get a stain they come out and wash it for you and if that doesn't work they replace it. I say, hey Paul, slow down buddy, we're sold, you can stop talking! We plan to put you on speed dial! So good ol' Paul entertains me with pictures of his 4 year old while the disgruntled cashier (I'd be disgruntled too if I had to listen to Paul all day) took our credit card. We wished Paul a fond farewell, promising to write at the holidays (after all - he says he's with us before, during and after and can call him any time! He mentioned this repeatedly). We left before Paul offered us his home number and headed home to pay Joey in cereal for his time. Our new couch arrives Wednesday.

Morgan had summer school this week and apparently didn't bite or otherwise harm anyone, so that's a successful week! This week Jocelyn has play group with Miss Dana on Tuesday. I think Timothy's camp isn't until next week.

So yesterday morning's wake up call from Jesse was a montage of "daddy?"s finally followed up by "daddy, what are you doing?" hahaha. This morning I finally got a shout out so got up and brought him into bed with us, which really never works out because he mostly just likes to jump on us.

Jesse seems to call Jocelyn "ZaZa", which is cute. When they are playing nicely together it is so sweet! And then SUDDENLY, it is NOT.
