Note from Jocelyn's teacher this week:
Jocelyn is too funny. She asked me why Miss Suzette was absent today. I told her it's because Miss Suzette is getting a new pool in her backyard and needs to be home so they can put it in. Jocelyn was SUPER excited about this because she LOVES to swim she told me. So then we talked about how the pool would get in the ground, as well as how the water would get in the pool. Jocelyn suggested that Miss Suzette could fill the pool using a watering can!! Soon the conversation changed because one of the other students was thirsty. Jocelyn chimed in, "Sometimes when my mom is thirsty she drinks a lot of beer."
I'm just so proud.
Timothy had his "encampment" this week. The 5th grade dresses up as the union or the confederates and play dodgeball for the nation. The confederates won. We got to write in letters as their relatives back home, and Timothy said mine was HILARIOUS. I talked about how now that he wasn't here, Morgan had taken over feeding the chickens but left the door open and they all escaped...
Morgan has gotten fairly good at getting his underwear when requested to do so, but has yet to have the presence of mind to think of it on his own. Also he still randomly puts both feet in the same leg hole. Still, it's progress. We're still working on the t-shirt - it's hit or miss. If he manages to find one in his size vs. Jesse's, he can sometimes get it on. But how does he mistake Jesse's shirts for his own?? Funnier was when he tried to put on Jocelyn's pants.
Jesse has taken a shining to the "what did you do today" portion of dinner time. He gets very excited when it's his turn, and also when it's over, he'll start doing the asking. It's hysterical. When he's not whining, he is the most ridiculously cute kid in the world. His vocabulary is just so amazing!
Uncle Aaron and Abbe stopped by for a visit on Saturday and thank goodness, the kids were relatively well behaved. They got to see how shy Jocelyn is - not. Morgan was a big fan of Uncle Aaron and Josh was supposing that he reminded Morgan of Jonathan. Abbe had a camera with her, so that pretty much won Jocelyn and Jesse over!
Today we cleaned out the toy room and front hall closets - carrying broken and incomplete games and toys straight out to the dumpster. It cleaned up nicely except the rug which is just beyond salvage. So I found a super deal on a rug at homedecoratersoutlet.com (marked down from over $800 to $150!) and ordered that and specifically got a dark color this time. Jocelyn and Jesse had so much fun playing with the toys they hadn't seen in years, or perhaps ever, from the back of the game closet (biggest hit was play McDs food which I think Timothy got when he was 4 - complete with headset for the drive thru teller, or rather with 2 headsets - thank goodness). Next week - Timothy's closet!
