June 8, 2008

Holy good golly it has been HOT HOT HOT this weekend! It's raining now but projected in the 90s for several more days - yuck! Plus this was dumpster weekend.  We rented a dumpster so we could empty the house into it - which made for some sweaty work! We can see the floor of the basement again though, and Josh could almost park in the garage if he wanted.

Jocelyn and I went to Morgan's play Friday morning, except the teacher had told us it started at 9:30 and really it started at 9, so we only caught the last 2 minutes - oops! I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see him do his line (which they said he did very well), but I did get to meet him and praise him after, and go to his classroom to get a munchkin and some juice. Then we went to the special room since he had earned computer time, at which point he was more than happy for us to leave! Jocelyn loves the toys in the special room and was having fun. But it meant I got home in time for my 10am conference call, so that was good.

Josh took Jesse to the doctor while we were at the play. He grew 3 inches and gained 3 Ibs in 3 months! Woo hoo! That puts him in the 75th percentile for height (33.5 in) and 25th for weight (24Ibs), even counting that he's 19 months and not 18! This was very exciting since he's never been in such high percentiles before - maybe he won't be my shorty after all! Also Josh got to answer yes to all the developmental questions, easily. The language one was 'does he have around 15 words and is he starting to put 2 words together'. Ummm, yeah, he's got probably 100 or more words and a good handful of 2 word sentences. He's also started saying please, thank you, and you're welcome, which is just adorable! Josh asked the doctor about his constant drinking (even though we do roughly 90% water and 10% juice, except in the morning when he gets his OJ with calcium since he still won't drink milk, not even chocolate milk) and how he saturates a diaper like nobody's business, but the doctor said that's totally fine and normal.

Timothy's birthday was Wednesday so I took a half day and came home and set up a party for when he got off the bus. He was very pleased. He sat down to open presents and said "ok, before we start, let me just say that you two are the best parents ever!" what a sweetie! He also asked on Thursday if we thought he should start wearing deodorant. So I gave him a sniff. Yeah, he should. I grabbed one from the stockpile and he's been using it faithfully ever since. He's all grown up! Next thing we know he'll be driving - eeek!

Started my new job this week and have no idea what on earth I'm doing but it's great so far! I didn't physically move until Friday, or sort of since they moved me while I was working at home. So I'll go in to a new office tomorrow.

Despite being exhausted from dumpster filling on Saturday, I actually headed to the grocery store at 9pm after my list was up and prepared, because it was at least not a trillion degrees - yuck! (Plus it's kind of nice at night when no one is there). Then the other grocery store today in the heat - yuck again. But I did awesome and plus only spent $135 for the week - woo hoo! I didn't make it to Walgreen's, will probably go to CVS and Walgreen's on the way home from work tomorrow. I managed to get 90 diapers and 80 wipes for $12 at CVS this week, so I was pretty psyched about that!! Plus a really good deal on charmin - I think I got 27 rolls plus 8 AAA batteries for about $8. It was a lot to fit in the cart though! Those CVS carts are just little!

While cleaning the basement we found the 2 seater sit & spin that mom gave us years ago and dragged it outside. Amazing you can misplace a toy that's 2 feet tall with a 4 foot diameter, but we can. Also found a bunch of tupperware. I wondered why it seems like I'm always buying it and we never have any - turns out it's because Josh hates the stuff and just keeps throwing it in the basement! I don't understand why anyone would hate tupperware of all things.
