January 10, 2010

Well not only am I behind, but I left things out last time!

So let's back up to Dec 28th, when Timothy went with Uncle Joey to WWE Raw when it was in Hartford.  He loved it, and we got to see him on TV!  (And yes, I am just the kind of quality parent that lets their 11 year old go to WWE - luckily I am in good company as Timothy found out a friend of his was there too - of course, I was the parent that bought the better seats, hee hee).  Timothy spent his cash on a particularly silly looking hat that he loves.

I think I mentioned the orthodontist and Jesse's doctor's appt.  Then we all got a stomach bug, now that was some New Year's fun!  Timothy started New Year's Eve, J&J on New Year's Day.  Poor Jocelyn had it for the most extended period and couldn't eat all day.  Even at the end of the day when it had been a few hours, I gave her 3 tostitos and went into Jesse's room to tuck him in.  I came back 5 min later and managed to get there just in time to catch the barf in the t-shirt I was holding (that I had just taken off Jesse).  She kept such a good attitude all day and for the most part, everyone made it to the bathroom or at least didn't hit any carpet and only a little of the couch.

Then of course one cannot catch barf with a t-shirt and not get sick themselves, so Saturday night was my turn and Monday night was Josh's.  I went in to work Monday but worked from home on Tuesday while Josh was in bed all day.  I got out and set up all the new holiday toys, including play doh and stickers and paper and markers, and then left my office door open so I could hear if anyone was dying.  At one point Jocelyn & Jesse were playing house with a baby doll.  Apparently the baby wasn't feeling well, so the two of them raced it across the house and held it over the toilet so it could throw up.  haha

Last Saturday night as I was starting not to feel well, Josh and Timothy were at a Wolf Pack (hockey) game.  They got lunch boxes for J&J (free with admission) and also got Jesse a hockey puck, which he was quite thrilled with.

Morgan never really did get sick.  There were other digestive issues, which he had before we got sick, so he could just have a stronger stomach than the rest of us.

I ordered some new furniture for Timothy and Morgan - to hold their clothes - and got them built/put together before I got sick.  Not drawers though, but 4 sets of doors.  Timothy's is 60"x60" and Morgan's is 48"x60".  Morgan also has a bureau (the unit basically holds everything except for his underwear and pajamas. Timothy's holds everything except his socks, which he has room in his end tables for.  So now the half of a wall unit that my mother built and that was in my room growing up and is currently in Timothy's room has been moved to Jocelyn's room where it will be reunited with its other half when my parents come down next weekend.  Jocelyn's clothes almost all fit in the half a unit we've already moved into her room, just needing one more drawer for pjs, so there is plenty of room to grow. The unit has shelves on top and drawers on the bottom and mom will built a platform between them to be a desk (which is how it was originally).

phew - catch all that?  Anyway, bottom line is I'm loving the doors for Timothy and Morgan instead of drawers - makes putting away laundry way easier and you can see everything instead of having to dig around in a drawer.  I would have gotten one for Jesse but he's really not tall enough to use it yet and likes to pick out his own clothes.

It was back to work/school this week, at least mostly.  Jocelyn and Jesse missed Tuesday because, with Josh sick, I couldn't take them and work at the same time, and Morgan missed Tuesday because we thought he'd get sick too.  But everyone went the rest of the week.

Actually, funny story on Thursday.  Josh was getting Jesse dressed - put on his underwear, then put on his pants, at which point underwear fell out of the leg.  He scratched his head but figured it must have just been in there from another day and threw it in the laundry.  They dropped Jocelyn off then went to Jesse's school and Josh took him to the bathroom before class, at which time he realized Jesse was going commando!  No idea how his underwear fell out of his pants??  But anyway, Jesse gave Mrs. Gerber a big hug and said Happy New Year to her.
