February 15, 2009

Good afternoon everyone!  I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day.  I've lowered my expectations over the years as Josh says he doesn't celebrate, but this year I was pleasantly surprised with a new necklace (silver infinity symbol).  Then on Saturday, the boys sent flowers to me and Jocelyn, which pleased her to no end.  So it was quite nice.

Timothy's team won this week!  16 to 12, a pretty low scoring game, but a win none the less.  That was the last regular season game.  The "play-offs" are on the 28th.  I assume we won't make it past the first round, so it should be a short day!

Morgan had a good week this week.  His teachers said he really like delivering his Valentines to his friends.  (They use it as a handwriting exercise at school, which is great because his teachers had him write them all out - saving me several hours of my time).

Two recent conversations between Jocelyn and Jesse:

Jocelyn: Want to come dance with me my prince?
Jesse: ok

Jocelyn: Jesse, I will be Ariel and you will be Your Majesty
Jesse: no, I don't want it
Jocelyn: tough!

I went out for a run today and managed to do 10k in just under 70 min.  During the last km, I definitely wasn't sure I was going to make it, but I managed to hang in there.  My right foot still hasn't toughened up on the inside of my arch so I have a fresh blister that started hurting pretty badly around the halfway mark.  But I knew it was going to be rough today - it wasn't as warm as I'd have liked and it was windy. I decided if I stayed close to home, no way I would make it.  So I ran away - out of the neighborhood - and didn't loop back until after 5km, so I had no choice but to keep going since walking home instead of running just would have taken longer.  I mis-estimated a bit and still had to walk close to 1km after hitting the 10km mark just to get home.  I keep forgetting to bring my cell phone, but that's probably for the best since I would have called Josh to pick me up!  haha
