We've been having such a busy life lately - seems I'm short a few hours each day!
Morgan’s teacher wrote this week that the kids in his class like him so much and want to know more about how to engage him, and she wanted to know if it was ok for her to talk to them about how he learns and what they can do to reach him more. Is that about the nicest thing you ever heard? I swear the kids in his class give me hope for humanity.
Saturday was the Walk for Autism (thank you so much to those that donated - writing you a personal thank you is still on my to-do list and I'm so sorry I haven't gotten to it yet). I must say I was not so impressed with the organizational capabilities of the walk organizer, whomever that may be. First of all, a live band at an autism walk? huh?! The noise from the speakers made me want to jump out of my skin - in fact Josh and I were joking that we caught autism while we walked for it!
The actual first problem, though, was that the directions required a general knowledge of the area - which we didn't have. So 4 stops for directions and way too long later, we arrived just in time. The walk was quite narrow at times, like twice a sidewalk or sometimes just a single sidewalk. Not so easy while pushing a double jogging stroller! Anyway, our team did awesome for fundraising and that's the point. Also Morgan seemed to really enjoy it - when he got back in the car to go home he asked "did you have fun?" so I asked him if he had fun and got a very emphatic "yes!"
I finally got an answer to my daily question to Jocelyn of "who are your friends at school?" She says Madison and Jack and Thomas - which are all names of kids in the class, so that's pretty good. I think her favorite part of school is getting dressed for it. She insists on dresses or at least frilly pant/top combos and then is proud to tell her teachers about her clothes. Miss Dana reported that she was quite taken with another little girl's sparkly purple dress.
I'm pretty sure Jesse is our smartest kid. I changed my pillow case the other day and it happened to be one that matched Josh's pillowcase. He saw the pillow on my side of the bed and pointed to it saying "that daddy pillow". I think that's pretty good!
I would report on Timothy but he disappeared into his room several months ago and I haven't really seen him. Every few hours he surfaces for food. He did go to a birthday party on Sunday - we stole a page from Auntie Mandy by giving a bucket of popcorn from blockbuster and candy and then a $10 gift card to blockbuster. It turned out pretty cute.
