Bit of a mixed bag this week. Certainly we ended on a high note. The one thing I forgot to mention about all the autistic kids yesterday is that generally they were either overweight or underweight - very few in the middle. That was interesting.
But the week didn't start out quite as good. Timothy started the stomach bug off Sunday night and was home Mon and Tues (missing his first basketball practice). Jocelyn got sick Tuesday evening and night, as did Morgan, and then I had it Wednesday. Jesse was cranky one night but generally seems to have avoided it otherwise. Josh had a touch on Thursday but then felt better. So it sort of hit us all differently - I think I got it the worst. Poor Jocelyn was the most surprised and didn't know what was happening. Plus she didn't really wake up for it several times and managed to get it all over her hair. Morgan let out a moan sitting beside me on the couch so Josh ran him to the bathroom where he managed to sit on the toilet and throw up forward. Oy! I swear someday my kids will learn to hit a bucket. Even Timothy, while he did manage to hit the trash can, hit one full of trash with no bag! We decided it was just easier to throw the whole thing away.
We seemed to have figured out the Jesse/bed routine such that he's mostly slept through the night. We close his door at night but then when we go to bed we open it and when he gets up in the morning he comes and finds us. He seems happy with this.
This morning Morgan decided that he, too, wanted to get into bed with us. A prerequisite to getting into bed is having pants, so I sent him to go get pants. He came back with Jesse's pants. I said no, those are Jesse's, go get your pants. He came back with Jocelyn's. silly! So I walked him into his room and said where do we find pants? He at least found underwear. I handed him pants and he put them on, also pretty good! So he got to come cuddle in bed. He likes it when I yawn - laughs like a toddler - too cute.
So every week Timothy brings home a folder full of work and I get to look through it and sign that I did (I swear I get more homework than the kids). One sheet this week was multiplication of 2 digit by 2 or 3 digit numbers and half of them were marked wrong. Usually he does well in math so I asked him what the issue was. "Oh, that's traditional math, and I'm not good at traditional math." huh? It's multiplication! Reminds me I need to make him some practice problems to do ...
Jocelyn's busy right now watching herself play via the TV (we have that fisher price thing that hooks into the TV and is a little camera - all the kids love it). Just now she yells to me "Mommy! Look at my butt on the TV!" hee hee
