October 26, 2008

Jocelyn and Jesse are going to help me write my update this week.

Mommy: what did you do this week

Jocelyn: I like to be Halloween, can I be in Halloween? I wanna be in Halloween. Mommy, I'm talking to you, can I be in Halloween? Mommy, I'M TALKING TO YOU. Hey Mommy, I'm talking to you, I'd like to be in Halloween.

Mommy: Did you play with any friends at school this week?

Jocelyn: yeah I played with Madison and Shelby. I played with them with the blocks.

Jesse: I played blocks!

Mommy: What did you play at centers?

Jocelyn: I played at blocks with my friends.

Mommy: What did you do at circle?

Jocelyn: I think I got a Halloween song and Miss Dana is here.

Mommy: Jesse, do you like blocks?

Jesse: YES! BLOCKS!

Mommy: did you go shopping today?

Jesse: Yes. Shopping M&Ms. M&Ms PLEASE! M&Ms PLEASE! M&Ms PLEASE!

Jocelyn: Mommy, I don't want to help you. We can go read books.

And off they went.

I had to buy Jesse M&Ms at CVS today because he started screaming when I put him in the cart instead of letting him walk. Yes, I'm the parent that shuts their kid up with candy. Better than the parent with the screaming kid browsing the diaper aisle!

On the subject of diapers, Jesse peed on the potty today! So on our trip out we got some car pull-ups.

Jocelyn: I want to help you mama!

Mommy: what do you want to say?

Jocelyn: I want to say thank you for snack!

Jesse: thank you snack! thank you snack!

Jocelyn: and I can paint my hair. Mommy, I can BEETEND to paint my hair. see?

By the way, Jocelyn is currently butt-nekkid except for a tutu. Last night when I checked on her on my way to bed she had the red dance top Marilyn gave her over her pjs and her tinkerbell shoes on.

Jocelyn: Madison's mom says she gets a Halloween.

Josh said he was in the car-line waiting to drop Jocelyn at school and he heard the teachers fighting over who got to get Jocelyn - hee hee.

Oh, when she's mad, Jocelyn has starting informing me that she doesn't love me AND she doesn't like me. Then the stomping starts. I think today it was because I let Jesse have a turn first at something.

Jesse was in bed with us this morning (hey, at least he slept until 6:30!) and had only one sock on. I asked him where the other sock was and he said "I dunno, maybe in the couch or sumpin'" Then he lies back in bed and points at the ceiling and says "look at the sky mommy, it's beautiful!" He also uses the word "delicious" (hard to figure out the first time but then adorable after that).

Jesse will be 2 in just 2 weeks! Where does the time go?! He (and my dad) are getting a Cars themed party. Jesse's also getting some new cleaning supplies as he's a regular little copy cat and has to do everything Josh does, which is mostly cleaning! haha

Jocelyn picks up a tube of toothpaste today (I was gathering toiletries for a drive at work - boy do I have a lot to donate!!) and says "hey, this one is fresh!" I thought it was a weird word to use for toothpaste until I looked on the box and noticed it was COLGATE MAXFRESH. How did she do that? She's started picking out Js and Os on things she sees - like today she saw Indiana Jones and says "It's a J and a O like me".

Timothy informed us that he wanted to rake lawns for money. I told him I'd give him $50 to do the backyard if he did the whole thing, or part of that if he did part. After 90 minutes he earned $1 (a generous $1 at that - you had to squint to even see where he'd been!). I don't think he'll be attempting that again any time soon!

Jesse: (touching my power cord) danger?

Morgan had a mixed week. He had an accident at school for the first time in years, yet he finished another math unit and is way ahead on that.

Jocelyn: Mommy, can I put this in my nose?

Well, about time for me to sign off! Hope everyone enjoys their week!

Jesse: see ma, it's in a nose
