We had Mandy and family here overnight last night and had so much fun!
They arrived in time for dinner. Josh had made pizza dough and Mandy and Jeff brought toppings. Jeff did all the prep while the rest of us basically stared at him. As the pizza neared ready, the kids seemed to have gathered around us. It was quite a raucous! The adults scarfed down some pizza, grabbed our cocktails, and headed to the deck where it was much quieter and quite a nice night out.
I guess we lost track of time.
After a while, there were a group of kids gathered at the door. They opened the door and pushed Jesse out.
Me: Yes?
Jesse: It seems to be quite a long time that we've been waiting for cake.
I laughed so hard! The Mikey-will-eat-it version of asking for dessert. So I went in and served the cake and they all ate happily.
Jocelyn bunked with Jesse, the Roberge girls were in Jocelyn's room, and Timothy was in our room. About 6am I heard Jesse's door start opening and closing roughly every 30 seconds. Apparently it was home base for everyone waking up and eventually contained most of the kids. Morgan was even in and out at certain points (happily, he was wearing pants).
When I finally came downstairs some kids were munching on cereal while I made coffee. Sage announced that Morgan had hugged her, then looked at me with a big smile on her face. Jocelyn shouted (repeatedly) that she was so glad to have all these sisters. Jesse was glued to Ruby.
Mandy headed home early to enjoy a few hours alone but Jeff and the kids stayed behind. Jeff and Josh made us all a big breakfast and then Jeff and Timothy settled into the game room for some video games, with everyone else looking on. Rumor has it Jeff even won.
When it was time for them to leave, Jocelyn yelled after the girls "I'm sorry you don't have any brothers!"
