It's been a fun week here. I’ve been home since the 24th. It's been a great time off, very restful, and somewhat productive.

Morgan has been potty training this week, though rather unsuccessfully. He's peed on the potty by coincidence, but has also peed on pretty much every carpet in the house. He's got ring around the butt from sitting on the potty so much, but still feels the need to get up long enough to pee on the carpet (or, yesterday, on Timothy's game controller). He's been talking up a storm and playing along to his videos. My favorite is his imitation of Grover's performance in "around around around around, over, under, through". Morgan comes close to you and says "near!" and then runs away and says "far!" and then repeats. He can say Auntie Mandy and Uncle Jeff and Ruby and Baby Sage now. He can say Elisabeth, but Auntie Elisabeth is a bit of a challenge. He got bubbles from Auntie Elisabeth for Christmas and has become obsessed with them. I don't know how many of you have seen Finding Nemo, but we tease that he's that fish in the dentist's tank that freaks every time the treasure chest of bubbles opens. "Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!! All mine!" Morgan's learned to give zerberts, so that's fun.

Timothy has pretty much been playing video games non-stop since Christmas day. He stops once in a while to play a board game with me. He likes The Allowance game, which is a monopoly type game for younger kids. His favorite is bingo. Mostly, though, he's been switching off between Smack Down Here Comes the Pain and Mario Party 4. Morgan loves to watch Mario Party 4, thinks it's hysterical.

No big plans tonight, which is par for the course around here. I'll probably drink a glass of champagne and let Josh finish the rest of the bottle, then make a feeble attempt to stay up until midnight, falling asleep on the couch around 11 or so. Josh will wake me as the ball drops so I can pretend I stayed up, and then I’ll go to bed. It's nice to have a plan. Our neighbor might drop by earlier in the evening for a drink or two.

Timothy was getting dressed the other day and he says to me, "Hey mommy, do these pants make my butt look big?"

"No, Timothy", I say, "Nothing could make your butt look big.”

So he says, "Ok, but does this shirt make my belly look big?"

I'm such a good parent to be teaching him body un-appreciation so early in life!
