Much better week this week! Josh's back is mostly feeling better, though it's still making him a bit grumpy.
Jocelyn is EVERYWHERE these days! She can pull herself to standing, which she thinks is a VERY nifty trick and so she does it constantly. In the morning we find her standing in her crib, which is pretty cute. She's also started climbing the stairs, though she's not especially good at it yet. We need to get some gates put up.
Morgan had a red letter week this week. As far as I know he made it through the week without biting anyone - woo hoo! Also, I have been trying for YEARS to get Morgan to play Memory with me - and Thursday night he finally did! I always use 6 pairs and start with them facing up and have never been able to get him to match that way before but this time it was a joke it was so easy for him. So I turned them over and he got the rules down in just a few turns and then he was pretty good at it. Of course, he always started with the same card, but when I would turn over one that he had seen before, he could easily find it.
Getting him to play was a challenge because I had just made him turn off the computer, so I wasn't exactly his favorite person, but once he did one and realized his reward was being tickled, then he was quite motivated. We played 3 rounds face down because he kept asking to play again. Afterwards I asked if he wanted the computer, but he said no, more tickles.
Friday night we played again a couple rounds, this time with 12 pairs, and he also did quite well. Then we played Boggle Jr, which he enjoyed. I'm very happy with the progress he's making this year. I need to start working with him on his sight words.
Timothy has a roller skating party tomorrow. The entire 2nd grade is invited! 60 kids! Jessica's mom says about 40 are coming, and not to worry because many of the kids haven't been on skates before. I'm going to go along.
Timothy's teacher sends home progress reports every other week and Timothy's continue to be glowing. Great behavior, great participation, pleasure to have in class, etc etc.
I've been trying to shed a few pounds and was disappointed on the scale this morning, but trying not to let it stop me. We bought a treadmill with the house and for 3 weeks in a row I've gotten on it 5 days a week, 30 minutes each time. It's got to start paying off eventually! Maybe I should stop watching The Biggest Loser, where they all lose 5-15 pounds each week because that just isn't realistic for me. Maybe if I took 3 months off, hired a personal trainer and a nutritionist, and worked out 4 hours a day like they are doing...
