Good morning everyone! I slept until almost 9 this morning! Then I checked on Jocelyn about every 10 minutes until she finally got up at 9:45 - I couldn't believe she was sleeping so long!! Tim and Amy and Ethan were over yesterday evening so maybe that wore her out. Ethan is so cute - has a big smile that lights up his face - and he's already crawling (he's 7 1/2 months old)! Not even army crawling but actually up on hands and knees - pretty impressive. Jocelyn didn't care much for him except that she kept trying to steal his binky and anything else he was holding. Toddler rules I guess. Ethan and Timothy hit it off though and were all over each other - it was pretty cute.
So let's see - last we left off I was finishing up painting Jocelyn's room. I did indeed put a second coat on the new wall and Tuesday Josh helped me get her furniture moved in (after the escapade of moving the furniture out - I was glad he was still talking to me!).
Wednesday when I got home from work I took Timothy out and dropped him off for his cartooning class and headed to Sam's Club to buy a mattress and box spring. I was very proud of myself for getting it down and onto the cart and then navigating the aisles. I had intended to buy sheets but they didn't have any in a twin. So I picked up about a billion pairs of socks instead. On my way out the old guy checking the receipts said I must need help getting that into the car, but I assured him I had made it this far...
The car was a challenge only because I had to leave one of the back seats up for Timothy to sit in when I picked him up (when all the seats are folded down in the van it makes an 8 foot bed, which is very convenient!), but I managed to get everything in there. Then I picked up Timothy (who seems to be enjoying the class) and Josh helped me get the mattress set up next to her bed and we put a temporary sheet on it. Jocelyn loved being able to watch herself in the mirror while she jumped on the bed, so we gated the room and let her sleep in there. After about 90 minutes she was all played out and fell asleep in front of the mirror.
Thursday I went to Bed Bath and Beyond for sheets and a bedskirt. When on earth did sheets get so expensive?!?! The first sets I came upon were $99 any size - holy moly! After what seemed like hours of searching, I found twin sets for $10 - woo hoo! So I bought 3 sets since I wasn't sure if I'd ever find them that cheap again! I found a bed skirt and blanket on clearance and rewarded my good shopping with a new sham in white eyelet. Then I went to AC Moore for wallpaper decals and found the same fairies for her room but couldn't find any bugs or frogs for the baby's room.
I went home and started to peal the old fairies off the nursery only to discover that they are not as strippable as they claimed to be!
So Friday I stopped at Lowe's for wallpaper stripper and then went to Babies R Us and got a frog mobile, also on clearance. It's cute - it's a frog prince and a frog princess and then a few stars. Anyway, got home and stripped the fairies with the stripper - much better!
Yesterday I got 2 coats of the "sage mist" green onto the nursery and put the new bedding in the crib, making it instantly irresistible to Jocelyn who screamed when I took her out of it. Silly baby. I make her a huge new princess room and she wants her crib back!
Anyway, I'm hoping to finish up both rooms today (except that baby still needs a dresser) and get some pictures taken. Jocelyn has managed to fall asleep on her bed the last 3 nights, which is nice.
I guess that's about it from here. Sounds like the princess is done with her breakfast so I best so get her cleaned up. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!
