Ahhhhhhh time for a break. Josh did his version of packing up his comics this week (or rather I told him he had to do it this week, so he did it Friday, but whatever, at least he did it!). Anyway, what that really meant is that he packed up what he felt like and left a bunch sitting in random boxes waiting to be dealt with. I told him his time was up and just stuffed every box around and closed it up, with no concern for which comics were where, or what else of his I put in the box just because it would fit. So there! Then I bet him $50 he's never open most of them anyway. He says if there's even one box he hasn't gone through a month after we move in, I win. What a sucker. Of course, if I lose, he'll be rather surprised to find some wine glasses, beer glasses, shot glasses, and a lunch box tucked in with his stuff!! Hee hee.
So I was finally able to grab some comet, a bucket, and a sponge and hit the basement floor. Can I just say EWWWWWW!! By the end I wasn't really cleaning, I was just spreading black water around with a dirty sponge, but whatever.
Time out to feed Jocelyn and then I spent several hours finishing the dining room. It's finally done! I just have to vacuum but she's sleeping so I'll wait. I did grab some water and a bucket and the same dirty sponge and cleaned the floors (or really, the edges and under the radiators) and can I just say EWWWWWWW again?! I'm so glad we don't have radiators in the new house - they are nasty. I even pulled the hutch out and did behind it and cleaned the actual hutch. I pulled up the runner carpet and am glad to report that it's going into the basement (for wiping our feet on) because EWWWWW.
So anyway, Josh and Timothy are out at the grocery store and then this evening (when it cools down a bit) - time to start the garage. Ugh. I figure that'll take several nights. During the day tomorrow I'll probably get started in the bedrooms, but I don't think that will be too bad because the clothes get to stay in the bureaus, but I do have a lot of cleaning to do. (I caught a glimpse of under the bed the other day and EWWWWWW - how do I live like this?).
I'm running low on boxes so I'm hoping I'm getting close. I have no idea what we're going to do with the TVs. I wonder if they'll just throw blankets around them or something. I guess I'll call and ask. I saved the boxes from the new computers, so that was using my noggin, but I know we don't have 18 VCR boxes saved! I took most of the pictures off the walls and packed those into the boxes that the other boxes were shipped in. I wrapped them in spare blankets. I'm just now noticing one I missed.
Morgan's pre-school graduation is Thursday so I'm taking the morning off. Then the following week Timothy has "author day" on one day and "daddy donut day" on the other. Josh wasn't going to go to Daddy donut day but the teacher called to say Timothy had a special part in the performance so I got guilted into taking that morning off to watch Morgan and Jocelyn while Josh goes in. Author day is all him though, if he wants to drag the kids over there - more power to him! This Friday one of the kids in Morgan's class is having an end of the year party and Josh is actually going to take Morgan to that, so that's nice.
Jocelyn has developed an interesting personality issue. If Josh is in the room, she wants him to hold her. Even if she's nursing at the time, she'll pull off and start crying if he walks in. Needless to say, this prevents much productivity during the day, and is rather irritating in the evening as well! He has to leave the room for me to feed her. In fact, it's really best if everyone leaves the room because she also will pull off to stare at Timothy or Morgan, and that's a pretty inefficient way of feeding her!
I have to leave the house at some point this weekend. Timothy's party is next weekend and I want to get matching shirts for the attendees so I don't lose anyone in Chuck E Cheese's. I also need to get Timothy something for his birthday! I believe he said he wanted a vapoblaster and a bubblator, so that's what I'll be searching for.
Ok, I guess my break is over. Jocelyn is still asleep (she's down to one nap a day and this is it!) so maybe I'll go get started on the garage. Ughhhhhhhh.
