I started teaching Timothy how to play poker last night. Don't worry, I won. He likes the betting part, but hasn't quite grasped the point yet. Then he taught me how to play Mario Party 4 on the game cube (which means he pressed the buttons slow enough for me to read the instructions). There are about a million "minigames" that are interludes to the actual game and he was starting to get frustrated that I didn't memorize all the instructions. For example, if I hadn't played a game before, he let me read everything, but otherwise he informed me that I'd already played that one and pounded through the instructions much too quickly for the human eye to observe. Anyway, I held my own much more so on Mario Party 4 than the wrestling or fighting games.
Morgan has grasped a very important concept. I call it the "go ask Daddy" concept. It's where he asks me for something and I tell him to go ask Daddy and he actually does! Pretty exciting, for me especially. He also asked Josh for juice yesterday and Josh asked him where his cup was and he actually went into the other room and brought it back. That was a thriller. I realize those of you with perfectly normal kids, are wondering what on earth I'm getting so excited for when he should've been doing this for the past two years, but I have such high hopes now for our cup supply! One day when we move out of this house we're going to find about 100 sippy cups that he's hidden. It was starting to be a rather expensive habit!
