We thought we were being SO smart last night. We've had this problem with Morgan taking off his diaper in the morning and pretty much using his bedroom as a bathroom, so we found some pajamas in the back of a drawer where the tops and bottoms snap together in 5 places around the waist. I guess we under-estimated the determination involved with little boys who REALLY want to be naked, because the snaps proved no match. On the up side, they seem to have taken him long enough to figure out that there was nothing to clean up this morning, so that's good.
Timothy and I went to the mall yesterday so I could get some maternity pants for work. When I went through my maternity clothes last week, I realized I still wore suits every day when I was pregnant with the boys. I told Timothy if he was very good maybe we would buy him a game, so he was a little angel. He sat in the dressing room holding my purse and handing me one pair after the next. I found a great thing called The Miracle Pant at Motherhood Maternity - adjustable straps on both sides that actually adjust significantly (not the usual little piece of elastic that gives you an extra inch maybe). As Timothy stood in line with me he patted my belly, which was just adorable.
Of course we had to stop at Gymboree to get something for the baby (I still can't believe it's a girl!). While I was picking from the pink and purple section Timothy says, "Hey look - it's like a Zebra!" And it was! It was a little furry Zebra patterned coat! So cute, but I passed (for now).
Anyway, after failing to find the maternity section at Filene's we stopped at JC Penney on the way back to the game store. It was so hot and humid inside the mall I was close to passing out, but I was on a mission. I found three more pants there and stood in line with sweat pouring down my face. They should really put chairs in those lines. So the only lady in front of me gets all through and is about to pay when SHE REALIZES SHE DIDN'T USE HER $10 COUPON! So the cashier had to void the whole thing and start over! I almost offered to pay her $10 to get the heck out of my way, but I was too sweaty and tired. So instead I stood there giving the back of her head nasty looks. Then she gets checked out AGAIN, and as she's leaving she asks the cashier what the fastest way to get out of the store was. OMG! THROUGH THE DOOR LADY - GET THE HECK OUT OF MY WAY! Seriously, how hard is it to find your way out of a mall store???
Somehow I managed to maintain my composure, and Timothy sat with me for a few minutes on the first bench we could find so I could rest. Then we took the world's fastest walk down to the game store, with me pretty much dragging Timothy the length of the mall, and an even faster stop at the game store, where I picked a game and said wouldn't this be great ok let's buy it. I think he knew I was at the end of my string and said yes, that would be the greatest idea he ever heard (usually he likes to examine every game in the place first). More dragging of Timothy as I raced to the car, turned it on, and blasted 65 degree air into it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Much better. I hate hot!
