Let's see let's see let's see. The kids all have fresh colds today. Jocelyn didn't even have a chance to get over her last cold! This one mostly involves a lot of drippy snot - yum!

Yesterday we had a neighborhood brunch and got to meet a bunch of our immediate neighbors, which was nice. Jenny and Mike across the street diagonally were at UConn the same time we were - and even lived in the jungle! Next door to the left and directly across the street are original owners with grown kids, but everyone else has younger kids. 2 doors down there is a 7th grader and a 5th grader - both girls. The 7th grader was great with all the kids and will make a great babysitter. She even was trying to get Morgan involved in the playing, which was very nice of her. She could tell he wasn't right but didn't say anything about it, and then Josh explained it to her (people seem more at ease once you explain it).

Timothy got invited to his first birthday party of the season - woo hoo! I found a blow up kicking/punching bag at Target and got that as a gift. I asked Timothy if he thought his friend would like it. He said "He's not going to like it, he's going to LOVE it!" So glad I made the right choice!

Timothy has a new girlfriend - Caitlin. Caitlin started the "cool" table at library and Timothy is the co-leader of the cool table. I asked him who the other co-leader was and he said there isn't one. So I asked who the leader is and he says Caitlin. Oh brother. I had to remind him that everyone was cool and he should be nice to everyone and not make rules about who should and should not be allowed at the cool table - but apparently that is not his job any way!

Timothy says 2 other girls also have crushes on him, so I asked why he picked Caitlin for his girlfriend. "I didn't pick her," he says. "She picked me!" I guess she informed him that he would be her boyfriend. Is it me, or are girls more aggressive these days?? And since when did girls not have cooties at age 7?

Morgan had a good week and got to spend more time than usual in the regular classroom. He brought home papers where he was clearly trying to write his name. The M, 0, and G are pretty clear - the rest you sort of have to squint at.

Today Joey came over to make us Rosh Hashanah dinner. I did a treasure hunt for the boys (mostly for Timothy - we couldn't really get Morgan into it) where the treasure was a new backpack filled with goodies. We filled the kitchen with balloons and had funny hats and noise makers - quite a good time! My mom came down to join us (and to bring the rest of the couch which has a new home in our family room, but of course needed pillows, so we had to go get those, but then they didn't match the curtains, so we had to get new curtains too - all purple! My favorite!). I'll put up some pictures of our day in a bit.

I got a little gardening done last week but it's slow going and I didn't get to it much this week. Next weekend, though, I need to make some progress. Mom says to just poison it all and start over. Tempting ...
