Monday night I had a parent-teacher conference with Timothy's teacher. He's doing fine. His handwriting is his real struggle, but that is getting much better. I got to read his journal where they have to write a story each day about a topic the teacher gives them. One was about a spider. His story went something like this: "Once there was one huge spider and he had one huge problem. His web was so heavy he could hardly lift it." It went on and now I don't remember the rest but I was thinking it was pretty creative. Then the next page was about a chicken: "Once there was one huge chicken and she had one huge problem. She laid such a heavy egg that she could hardly lift it." I guess not being able to lift things has stuck in his head recently!
Tuesday was the conference with Morgan's teacher, which tends to be less fun anyway but was particularly less fun because he had bitten her that day and broken the skin, so she was leaving after she spoke with me to get it checked out by the doctor (who told her that since he hadn't ripped her pants, it was nothing to worry about). Part of me was rather pissed because he only bit her because she and another teacher were holding him down in a chair by his arms, so he didn't have them free to deck her. I probably would've bitten her too! Great, now I'm one of those parents that makes excuses for their kids.
