It's snowing AGAIN! It's coming down pretty good and the kids have no school and they've been up since 6:30am for some unknown reason. I think I may spend the day hiding in the bedroom.
I saw the doctor yesterday and no change from last week except the baby dropped, which means I get to pee every 5 minutes and have shooting pains down the front of my legs, but at least I can take a flight of stairs without being so winded I have to rest. I have my next appointment next Tuesday (which will be FEBRUARY) and told her I wasn't leaving that appt until she agreed to induce me. She said maybe. I threatened to fake labor and chain myself to a hospital bed demanding pitocin. She asked if I was this funny when I was in labor. I said no, no I'm not, not even a little funny at that point. Then the nurse lady was filling out my disability claim form, which is really not meant for pregnancies so it was a challenge to fill out. The last question was "Is this a work related disability?” and I said only if my boss knocked me up right? Pretty easy audience there at old Connecticut Woman, that one had them rolling on the floor.
I went and saw Timothy's duet at school yesterday. He was so AWESOME! On the stage from left to right were 3 older boys, then Timothy and Alyssa, then 3 older girls. The entire school was in the audience. Timothy and Alyssa sang the slow opening lines, and then all 8 of them lead the rest of the school in the rest of the song. I didn't realize there was a whole dance they had to do! He sang and did all the dance moves along with the rest, only of course he was the best. Afterwards, he and Alyssa got special certificates of appreciation (presented to the "very brave 1st graders") and he was so proud. I cried through the whole thing (good thing it was dark and I was in the back - and by back I mean they had set up one row of chairs against the wall for parents and all the kids were lining the gym floor - so I could still see just fine) and after he got off the stage, Timothy broke into tears too. His teacher sent him back to sit with me. He was so proud of his certificate; he wouldn't let go of it. I could tell he was terrified from the second he got up there and yet he managed to hold it together, sing on key, and lead all the dance moves with his usual exuberance. He's amazing.
Morgan had 2 good days at school in a row, with no biting incidents. Woo hoo! His teacher took my advice and tried to find things that Morgan actually enjoys to do to alternate with the crud he doesn't (he can see on his schedule what comes next, and is smart enough to know if he makes it through the cruddy one he'll get to the next one). She also moved his circle time mat to the center where he is between 2 friends and directly in front of her and she says that's made a huge difference in his participation. So perhaps his teacher is finally getting a clue! Last night he was standing at the top of the stairs (he's trained not to come downstairs unless specifically invited, so he just stands at the top of the stairs) and I yelled "Morgan what do you want?" Usually he answers juice or movie or something like that, and I say ok and tell him to go back to bed, but last night he says "more hugs?" I had to give him credit for that one! So I said ok, come on down, and he came down and got some hugs.
