Busy week as usual these days. I don't remember where I left off last week, but I got both the bathroom and Morgan's room painted and I got new bedding for all the kids. Morgan's room is now presentable! Today I found a shadow box to fit in the hole in the wall, so I was pretty psyched about that.
Mandy and family came down yesterday and we all had a super-fun day. Mandy helped me prime the basement and came with me to Lowe's to buy paint (I had managed to get the wallpaper stripped this week, which was an effort to say the least). We took the kids for a walk around the neighborhood and got back about 30 seconds before a major downpour - phew! Ruby and Timothy played very well together all day and required little adult attention. There was one time when I couldn't find any children and went searching, only to find Timothy, Morgan, and Ruby all sitting and playing in the empty jacuzzi tub in our bedroom!
I got a first coat of paint on everything in the basement room last night, and then Mom got here at 8am this morning and helped me put on a second. The walls are blue, the upper shelving is lime, and the bottom shelving is purple - makes for quite a lively room! We went to Christmas Tree Shop (love that store!) and bought a bunch of baskets to hold all my craft stuff. I'm gonna go geeky and make laminated cards of what's in each one and tie them to the basket.
Mom and I came home and put together a lawn swing she bought us (which Morgan LOVE LOVE LOVES) and 2 bureaus (I really thought I only ordered one, but oh well - Morgan needed a new one anyway! The other is for Jocelyn). So this week I'll clean out Jocelyn and Morgan's bedrooms and get them organized. Mom also walked me around the yard to show me all the different places I have poison ivy - eek! So I'll go spray that tonight.
Morgan went to school mornings this week. The first day was rough for him but he had a good week, so I was very happy that the transition went that quickly. Last year it took him so long to get used to it that he never really got much out of it. He was real stimmy this week (lots of flapping and weird mouth noises) so I don't know if his allergies are acting up or he's just getting used to the new house or what. It doesn’t bother him from what I can tell and he's generally been in a good mood.
Jocelyn's been sleeping in her crib all week as we finally got the monitor hooked up. She had given up daytime nursing but was still doing first and last feeds, but now I think she might be done with that too. She's just way too interested in what else is going on - even last night she really just wanted to be watching TV! Ahhhh, a girl after my own heart. I still have some breastmilk frozen so she'll get a bottle or two of that a day for the next couple weeks and that will get her almost to 6 months, so that's nice. She's quite good at eating solids and enjoys everything she's had so far. She also likes her exersaucer and the doorway jumper and well, she pretty much likes everything, she's a happy baby.
Timothy is generally bored most of the time but Josh did take him to Chuck E. Cheese's this week while Morgan was at school and they had a good time. He wants to have a friend over and Josh had told him a while ago that he could when we were unpacked so he keeps asking me how many boxes are left. On the subject of boxes, a friend of Tim's came over Saturday morning and took them all away! Woo hoo! So now all that's left are ones that have yet to be unpacked, which isn't really that many.
So.far Josh is keeping up with the house (and almost with the laundry). I'm not much help as I spend all my time painting it seems. We both agree life will be even better once we get some CHAIRS! I was told last Saturday that they had returned to CA and were re-shipped, but as it turns out, they weren't and in fact have yet to be re-shipped!!! Oy yay yay - maybe someday we'll have chairs - maybe not!
Well, the poison ivy is calling to me to come kill it, so off I go. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
