Thursday night was Open House at Timothy and Morgan's school, so that was fun. I really like Timothy's teacher. I got to sit at his desk (or, at least a belly away from his desk) and see his handwriting book and all that.
Then I went to Morgan's class. The jury's still out on his teacher. First of all, she wears a tank top every day (or every day that we've seen her)- and they are equivalent to my undershirts, and second, that's what she wore for open house. Seemed a little bit of an odd thing to pick to meet all the parents. Also, she has that deer-in-the-headlights thing going on when I speak to her. In fact, it's sort of the look I picture Morgan having often as he gets older. The communication is less than I would like, but I was probably just spoiled last year. Anyway, she's new so I'll give her a little more time to settle in before I start emailing every day to find out details of what went on that day.
Yesterday we went to Boxboro for picture day. The 4 of us went first so Morgan was still in a good mood and I think we got a good shot. The whole family shot was way more challenging and I've got my fingers crossed that at least one was passable.
I managed to cram into my regular jeans yesterday, but I think it was the last time that will happen. I'm still down 10 Ibs, but my belly is really starting to pop out and Jocelyn pretty much kicks all day long - and well into the nighttime (that can't be good). Timothy asks to feel my belly every day and then tells me I'm the best Mommy in the whole world and he loves me so much and I'm so beautiful. Then he rubs the belly and kisses me on the cheek and hugs me with his other arm. He rocks.
We got out our home movies from 2001+ last nigtht and watched them all in a row. Wow! The kids have grown up so much, and they both have the worst haircuts ever in most of the footage! Both boys stayed for the whole thing and loved every second of it (they really like it being set to music and dance for most of them). Morgan kept kissing baby Morgan on the screen. I forgot how bad his skin was, especially at just a few months old.
There was footage from when Ruby was about 7 or 8 weeks (on Morgan's 1st bday) when Mandy left her with us for a few hours and she STILL cried when I held her! (But not when Josh did). Timothy's 3rd birthday was when he thought the word BUTT was so funny and sang Happy Birthday Butt and then practically passed out laughing at himself.
I paused one movie of Morgan spinning bowls last spring and Morgan screamed, "more Timothy! more Timothy!" He just doesn't understand that it's him, even when they are both in the shot. So now I feel bad because I've taken very little footage this year. I need to step it up a bit. I should've broken out the camera during picture day yesterday - I even had it with me because I had that intent but forgot! So perhaps today I'll actually get the kids dressed and tape them a bit - maybe interview style with Timothy.
I did manage to get some regular clothes out of my drawers yesterday and put my maternity clothes away, plus anything oversized that I thought would fit a while longer. I'm in pretty good shape for maternity clothes now, so the next step is to figure out what I'm going to do in the kids' room. I either need to put a new bureau in there for the baby clothes (Josh has one he's willing to give up), or put a new one in and shift things around, or not put one in there and somehow use the armoire that currently holds books and toys. Right now all the clothes we've gathered to date are washed and folded and living on the dining room table. Also, the crib is holding/ overflowing with every stuffed animal we own, and Morgan needs to have stuff that doesn't fit taken out and stored somewhere... Ugh. That doesn't sound like a fun afternoon.
