Greetings all! Cruddy week at work this week but what a fantastic weekend!!
Mom and Dad were here Friday when I got home and stayed over. Mom changed the light fixture in the dining room - now play room - and now Josh and I don't clothesline ourselves on the lighting fixture when walking through room.
Mandy and I hung out with all the kids yesterday while the men and mom went golfing. The kids seemed to have a great time - Ruby was a fantastic driver and enjoyed Timothy's motorized truck very much. She even did a 3 point turn! Timothy and Auntie Mandy played mock-tennis with plastic rackets and a mobile net that we have. Timothy may have found his game! Mandy and family stayed for pizza after golf and then they scooted home - and this time I got a goodbye hug from Ruby!
Sage LOVES Jocelyn and the two of them had a fun game where Jocelyn would toss her bottle on the ground and Sage would pick it up and give it back. It was pretty cute.
Today we all went to the Wapping Fair. Usually this means someone chases Morgan around and someone gets to do stuff with Timothy, but this year Morgan was the one doing stuff. I had him talked into a pony ride - something Timothy would turn down in lieu of clawing off his own face - and he was so close to actually going through with it. He went through the gate and stood near the pony and put the helmet on but then balked when the guy went to lift him. I picked him up and he was calm and not screaming but he didn't want to get on any more. He did let us brush his leg with the pony's mane for a moment, and then said thank you. I'm still very proud of him - if I had tried to drag Timothy in there he would've kicked and screamed.
So then we walked down to the tents with all the animals in them. There was a large black sheep with an attitude making a deep throaty BAAA every 30 seconds or so. Morgan and I agreed this was very funny. There were goats and chickens and roosters and bunnies and Morgan looked at them all and wasn't scared in the least. We walked by all the cows and bulls and he liked those too (of course, Josh announces to Timothy that this is where we get all our hamburgers from - yum - I can't take him anywhere!).
We also went over to the fire truck and Morgan stood in line to be lifted into the truck and try it out, which he enjoyed very much. In fact, I almost couldn't get him back down again and had to climb up there myself, but he came back down without a tantrum.
Timothy played a few games - at the one with the darts popping the balloons he won a Sponge Bob. Morgan waited patiently, and that was the only time he covered his ears. The boys each got to pick a ducky from the duck pool and won stuffed flowers - which they gave to Jocelyn and she loved.
On our way out Morgan asked to go in the car - great timing! Jocelyn was very quiet in her stroller the whole time, and Timothy got his face painted, so everyone was happy. On the way home Morgan kept asking "did you have fun?" and so I would repeat the question back to him and he would say "YES!" very emphatically.
Oh, I got to see Timothy do some sparring at karate this week. I can't describe it, but just take my word for it, it's pretty funny!
I got a few bushes trimmed this afternoon and now I'm going to take a bubble bath. Perfect end to a perfect weekend - even the weather was perfect!
