What a fun weekend we had!
I don't know if I mentioned that Wednesday night I went to Timothy's karate graduation. He got his green belt. He really is improving his skills, and also seems to very much enjoy himself. It was a packed room though and no seats available, so I ended up sitting on the floor for the hour-long show.
I'm getting old!
Friday morning Uncle Aaron and Abbe visited and it was very nice to see them. Later Friday afternoon Susan and Jonathan arrived and we had a very nice meal (a la Uncle Joey) and then sat around talking. The boys went to bed at 8 so Jocelyn was very happy to be the center of attention for several hours as we let her stay up quite late.
By the end of the evening she was so tired that she couldn't even crawl any more and was forced to roll around as a mode of transportation. She became skilled at lying on her back and pulling a blanket over her head and then down again to play peek-a-boo. It was pretty darned cute!!
Saturday Josh and Jeremy and Jocelyn and I went to see Ethan. So cute and cuddly!! Tim's parents and 2 of his brothers were there and it was nice to see them again. I hadn't seen Tim's house since he finished his kitchen, dining room, and nursery - they turned out fantastic! I got to hog Ethan for a good period of time and it was so nice to hold a brand new baby. Jocelyn wanted to poke him, so we had to have her keep her distance.
Last night Susan and Jonathan took the boys to Build a Bear. Well, first they stopped to have "sucker" tattooed on their foreheads, or so it seemed by the number of bags they came home with! Timothy, of course, had the best time EVER. He made a monkey (Steve) complete with a military outfit, plus a Patriot's outfit and a Celtic's outfit as back-ups. And of course he then needed the basketball hoop and basketball to go with.
Morgan got a cookie monster in a Red Sox shirt and shorts - his name is Red Sox Dude. For Jocelyn they made the softest (and washable) teddy bear (Jessie) with a pink suede winter coat. Seriously, too cute for words. Also buried in the many bags were gift certificates for our next trip. Timothy has yet to let Steve out of his sight and the bear has changed clothes at least a dozen times. Unfortunately, I spilled coffee on most of his wardrobe this morning, so we'll see how it handles the wash.
After the boys went to bed last night, Josh put on some Johnny Cash and Jocelyn started to boogie. It was totally hysterical - the butt shaking and also an Elvis imitation. When the music stopped, she stopped, and when it started again, she started again. Whether she was standing, sitting, or kneeling, the butt started shaking.
We decided one late night was enough for her so she was sent up a little before 9. She bounced back a bit later but then went down before 9:30. We all settled into the couch to watch Home for the Holidays - which cracks me up every time despite the fact that I've seen it at least a dozen times.
This morning we had a photo session with Susan and I can't wait to see how they came out. I think she got some good shots What am I saying - of course she did!
Everyone was gone by noon and Josh got the kitchen picked up so all we really have to do today is a bunch of laundry - not bad at all. We all had a fantastic and relaxing weekend. Hope you did too!
