Busy week this week! Upon finding out that we got the house on Monday, fixing up this house to get ready to put it on the market kicked into high gear. We got a whole lot done - painting, cleaning, patching, etc. Tim came over and fixed the siding where we had the fire last year, and showed us how to scrape the burn spots off the wood, which I then re-stained (I think I still need to put another coat on). Anyway, looks much better now. We're almost done and will list the house on Monday. Just a little more work on the deck, the storage room, and then cleaning the floors (which is on the agenda for today).

So between working on the house all day and being up with Jocelyn every couple hours at night, I was pretty much ready to drop by the end of the week, so last night Josh took the whole night shift and let me get some sleep. I still woke up when she cried, but then fell back to sleep pretty quickly, and feel much better today! I got up at 5:30am, which I would've normally complained about to no end, but this morning it's like I got all the sleep in the world!

I spent a good part of my free time this week fantasizing about where all our furniture will go in the new house, and tried to put out of my mind the thoughts that I'm crazy to think we can afford this house. This is pretty much my dream house, so if we have to eat nothing but mac 'n' cheese and peanut butter sandwiches for a few months, so be it.

We had the house inspection Thursday so got to walk around and see everything again. It was even bigger than I remembered! The carpets were in better condition than I remembered as well, and the inspection went swimmingly, so that's all set. Jocelyn was nice enough to sleep through the whole thing - she's pretty good like that when she falls asleep in the car and then carried around in the sling for several hours, it's at home that she never sleeps for more than 20 minutes during the day! At night she's only marginally better.

I found a brand new drill and bits while cleaning this week, so that was a nice surprise. I have no idea if I bought it or received it as a gift, but it's a very nice drill!

We measured all the rooms in our current house and were disappointed to discover that we do not have the square feet we thought we did (our thoughts being based on what we were told when we bought the place). They must've included the basement when they did the estimate in 97. Even with generous measurements we only have 1800 sq ft, which doesn't sound nearly as nice as the 2000 I thought we had, or the 2400 on the listing when we bought this house. Ah well! Does make the new house all the bigger though - almost 2 1/ 2 times what we have now!!

So our close date right now is 6/24 and with any luck we'll sell this house quickly and to someone who would also like to close that day. Then we plan to have a big ol’ birthday party for Morgan's 5th birthday in July - woo hoo!
