Well it was a red-letter day for Jocelyn today - she had her first Dunkin' Donuts munchkins! One chocolate, one powder. It was pretty funny because she ate the chocolate but pretty much just rubbed the powder all over her face.
One of Jocelyn's front top teeth finally poked through yesterday. The other one is very close to poking through but not quite there yet. Still, despite a general lack of teeth, she seems to be rather adept at eating. She eats whatever we eat now - including meatloaf and potatoes and carrots this week. She LOVES carrots.
I got Jocelyn's stocking made yesterday. Well, I already had the actual stocking (and now have just 1 blank one left), but just had to sew a patch on the heel and cross-stitch her name and sew that on the top. Unfortunately I lost the book of cross-stitch letters that I had - but at least every letter except the C was on someone else's and I could go from that. The C I improvised using a G as a guide. Then I hung all the stockings up on the mantel so I could get a picture, which I'll post later when my camera is done charging. There are 13 of us this year!
I made the new stockings in 1998 when Timothy was born. At the time I made 10 (including 1 for Grammy Lessard), which was 1 extra. It was all the main front and back material I had. In 2000, Morgan got the extra. In 2001 when Ruby was born I went out and found the closest material I could find and made hers plus 4 extras (which is when I ran out of another material - I forget which). In 2003 I added Rob and Sage, and then this year Jocelyn, so now there is just 1 left and when that's gone I'm not sure what I'll do.
So yesterday I reached the 30-pound weight-loss mark. I was pretty excited! I've got 10 more to go to get to my goal, which is still a bit above my "ideal" weight (though it's in the ranges) according to various googled web sites, but at least I'm in the "normal" bmi range now (I was pushing the upper limits of the "over-weight" range before). The last 10 will likely be the toughest, especially since we're into the official holiday eating-season, but I'll keep at it. I'm down from a size 16 (and a large 16 at that - sometimes an 18) to a 12 and almost a 10. The 10s are just a bit tight but I hope the last 10 pounds will make them fit rather comfortably.
I ordered some new sweats from Old Navy on clearance as it is COLD in this house and my old sweatpants are falling off me.
'm taking the week off between Christmas and New Year's and am very excited for the break! We also booked our Maine vacation for 2006, in the same place we stayed in 2004. They've made some improvements to the house including adding a washer/dryer, so we're pretty excited about that!
Josh and I are still arguing over how much snow we got. I say it's only 8-10 inches, he thinks it's over a foot. The plow didn't come until 3:45pm on Friday - so it was a good thing I worked from home! We haven't got a snow blower (yet) so we took turns shoveling. It had stopped by the time the plow came, so I went out and did that part yesterday and boy was it heavy! Josh still has to do the sidewalk.
Let's see. Morgan and Timothy had uneventful weeks I believe. Morgan's class had a field trip to a Lion's Club party that he behaved well on, and even joined in on the dance floor from what I understand. They had a snow day on Friday.
