I'm pregnant!

Josh and I started trying for #3 last May. We started off casually enough. Then when it didn't work the first few months, I bought a bunch of ovulation predictor kits and realized that in the 3 months I took them, I never had a positive, so it seemed as though I wasn't ovulating. Hmmmm. I saw a doctor in November and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which explained the lack of ovulating. I started Clomid in December, and didn't ovulate the first month and wasn't sure about the second month (I say month, but really mean cycle - my cycles are about 33 days long), but then months 3 and 4 were good ovulations and still no baby. So this month I had an HSG, which is where they shoot ink up into your uterus and fallopian tubes and take xrays (a rather unpleasant procedure to say the least!). Turns out, I only have one tube. Go figure.

Josh had a semen analysis and his swimmers were fine, so it was all me. This was my 5th round of clomid and they only let you have 6 because else your risk of ovarian cancer gets too high. And if I was only ovulating every other month on average, well the odds didn't seem very good to say the least. But turns out this was our month!

I'm a little more than 5 weeks along now - due around Jan 30th (I haven't seen the doctor yet – I’ll go on the 17th). The last thing the doctor had said to me (after the HSG) was to call her if this month didn't work out and we'd decide where to go next. So glad not to have to have that discussion!

I don't really have any symptoms yet. I feel fine. I had ordered 25 pregnancy tests off the internet (along with 25 ovulation predictors for only $21 - what a deal!) and got a positive with the first one I took - so I keep taking them every few days just to make sure I'm still pregnant, because I don't really "feel" pregnant at this point.
