I just love Morgan's teacher. She sent me an email almost every day this week! Here they are:

Monday:
Morgan really did have a great day today! At circle he was singing at the top of his lungs, he came into school this morning giggling, and then at music he was hysterical. Miss Susan, the music teacher, has a bungy-type, fabric rope that everyone holds onto in a circle and bounces on their legs while singing. We've used in many times before, but Morgan has never been so pleased for her to take it out as he was today-he said "Yay!" then was smiling a lot. THEN, we started singing a song and in part of the song we lifted the rope up above our heads then quickly pulled it down on our legs. Well, he was laughing so hard - that giggly belly laugh. He ended up laughing so hard that he was literally rolling on the floor. This went on for about 5 minutes until it was time to put it away, which was when one of the kids said, "Oh man!" and Morgan said "Oh man!" I'm going to warn you about tomorrow though ... we're going to tell him that the Cheez-Its are all gone to try to get him to eat something else. Of course they're not really all gone and we're just going to hide them, but we're going to try several other choices to see if he'll eat them. Hopefully that won't throw him off too bad, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it does because he is VERY used to and VERY insistent upon having Cheez-Its and ONLY Cheez-Its EVERY day!

Tuesday:
Ok, so I tried no Cheez- Its and it went better than I expected. He kept asking for them, but I kept telling him they were all gone. I put goldfish (rainbow colored) and a granola bar on his napkin and kept telling to that those were his choices. He slid them away and said "No." He sat for a while continuing at times to ask for the Cheez-Its, but mostly just sitting quietly doing nothing. After about 7 minutes he said "Clean up" and cleaned up his snack and juice without a bite or sip. On one hand he didn't end up eating a snack, but on the other hand he didn't have the meltdown that I was expecting! We're going to try again for the rest of the week and hopefully he'll eat something else. I hid the Cheez-Its so they're out of sight. Maybe he'll forget about them, although I doubt it, He's having a great week this week!

Tuesday, again:
I forgot to mention or write on the sheet that we went to a show that the 1st graders did today. It was mostly singing and dancing. Morgan enjoyed it a lot! He kept looking back at us (the teachers behind him) and saying "I like it," then flapping. Then when it was time to leave (before it was over; we only stayed for 20 minutes of it), he said, "No. Sit down. Ok." because I think he wanted to stay.

Thursday:
I'm sure Josh told you the exciting news about Morgan today. He went down the twisty slide! First with Ellen, then alone! Some pictures are attached, and others will be attached in another email. Exciting! (She had taken 4 pictures just of his one trip down the slide! She also called Josh to tell him about the slide and that he finally ate some goldfish for snack, though only the orange ones).

Timothy is pretty excited because he gets to be the VIP of his classroom next week, which means he gets to bring something for show and tell each day. He wants to bring his video games in first, of course! He gave me the sheet that came home about what to bring in and I was reading them off but stopped before the last one and he said, "Don't forget souvenirs". Freaky - the kid knows how to read the word souvenirs!

When we had his conference last week the teacher guessed he was reading at a 3rd or 4th grade level. It's so cute because he really tries to read with intonation, paying attention to the punctuation. It doesn't always work out for him, but the trying is adorable.
