I can't remember if I already wrote about cookie monster. I asked Morgan the other day, while he was making a mess with cookies, if he was cookie monster. He looked at me as if to say "well what do you know, you finally figured it out!" and proceeded to mash cookies in his face and spray them everywhere.

Today he was watching Bugs Bunny and prancing around. I asked if he was Daffy Duck and he held a smoking gun (his finger) up to his mouth and blew the smoke away. (I know, I'm a great mom - still, it was hysterical). He says something after he blows the smoke away, but I can't make it out.

Timothy and I went to the mall today because Josh and I each had two watches that needed new batteries. While we were waiting, I made the mistake of letting myself get dragged into the game store. Timothy wanted the more expensive games and I offered him the choice between a $5 game and an $8 game. Apparently, this was a repulsive choice and he balked. I said it was this or nothing. He pouted. I put them back on the shelf and took him by the hand to leave the store. I then had to drag him from the store while he cried, "But I want the game but I want the game! Mommy Mommy, I’m so sorry! I just want the game!" Then we stood at the counter getting our watches. "But I want the game but I want the game! Mommy Mommy, I'm so sorry! I just want the game!" Then I dragged him (literally) from the mall to the car. "But I want the game but I want the game! Mommy Mommy, I’m so sorry! I just want the game!" He refused to actually get into the car so I had to put my knee under his butt and give him a lift so that then I could put my packages down in the car and climb in to spank him properly.

He cried all the way home. We had already had a struggle over which new sneakers he was getting, prior to the game store, so I really wasn't in the mood. When I got home we both stomped in and Josh said "uh oh" and put Timothy to bed. He doesn't usually nap any more, but he was tired after all the crying, so he slept for about an hour. When he got up, he reminded me that I had been mad at him. I told him that even when Mommy is mad, she still loves him, and did he know why I was mad at him at the store.

"You were mad at me because you didn't buy me a game, I just want a game."

Way to miss the whole point kid!

Anyway, we put it behind us and took a pretend trip to Mars using the couch as a spaceship. He got out and I told him to look for aliens. He located one and I told him to go shake hands and say hi. He looked at me like I was crazy. "But I just have to go beat it," he says. Of course, what was I thinking? Commence terrible beating of what appeared to be a much smaller alien.

Morgan had his hearing tested this week and passed with flying colors. They sat him on Josh's lap and told Josh to look straight ahead and don't look either way. They have one speaker on the left and one on the right. After one makes a sound, there was a little toy over the speaker that would perform in some way that Morgan found quite entertaining. So he looked whenever he heard the sound. The testers were behind a one way mirror watching and Timothy sat quietly behind Josh, as instructed. When they were done, the testers informed Josh that it was 2 for 1 day because Morgan had passed and so had Timothy.

I was on a conference call yesterday and was explaining to a group of finance people that, by the laws of mathematics, two things were equivalent.

"Ooh, the laws of mathematics," one guy says.
“Yeah, but it's so sexy when she says it," another guy says.

Some giggles. Pause, then a third guy says "did we just have an HR moment?" It was pretty funny. Then they broke into some other HR moment about someone's pants.

Well, I guess that's it from here. No big plans for tomorrow. For example, definitely not going to the mall with Timothy! Although we did have fun riding the escalators, which he enjoys despite the fact that when we actually get on and off he seems completely terrified, but he doesn't let that get in his way and we rode up and down several times just for fun. Of course, I would've had more fun not looking like I was stealing a screaming child and forcing him to leave with me, but you take it where you can get it I suppose. Oh yeah, we were also walking by The Disney Store and an employee had a remote control car. He drove it right up to Timothy, stopping about 6 inches short. Timothy yelled, "missed me!" and smiled at the guy before we continued walking.
