So yesterday I get woken up by a cold wet cat nose pressed to my own nose. Quite a startle to wake up to! I brush him aside and notice he's wet. "ugh! wet cat!" I say. Josh jumps out of bed - "that means Morgan's outside!" he says and goes running downstairs. So yes, Morgan has learned to unlock and open the slider. Luckily, the area around the slider and what we liberally call a deck is fenced off and he's too short to undo the fence, but now we have a make-shift bar-lock holding the slider closed. Just a matter of time before he figures that out too.
This morning Josh took Jocelyn downstairs at 7 and let me sleep until she wanted to eat again at 9:30, so that was nice. I had to get up anyway because the crazy photographer lady was coming at 10:30 to show us the proofs. She showed up at 11:10, but close enough I guess. The pictures carne out nice - though the best one of Morgan wasn't the best of the others, etc, but I think we got a good one. The ones of Jocelyn were all so cute that it was hard to pick, but I did, and then I got a set of proofs too so that I can still have all of them. Crazy lady says they'll be here in a couple weeks, so I'll scan them in then.
Anyway, so Timothy was practically bursting at the seems when I came downstairs, and had obviously been holding my mother's day gift behind his back for several hours in anticipation of me waking. I got "My Book about Me and You Mom" that he made and a great card with all the things he likes about me (for those of you unaware, his favorite thing about me is that I'm the best mom in the world). Morgan (or really Morgan's teacher) made me a trivet with his hand print on it and a card with his picture in it. Susan & Jonathan sent me a frame of a picture of me and Jocelyn and more pictures and the CD with all the Passover pictures on it (I put some of the pictures on the web site, and they're awesome for those of you who haven't checked them out yet).
After crazy lady left, Timothy asked if he could write me a check, so we made him some fake checks on the computer. He just handed me the check he wrote out to Rhonda Lessard for $609 for being the best Mom. Josh got $300 for reminding him to go to school, but, as Timothy tells me, I got the most.
I made it through a whole week at work this week - woo hoo! It wasn't so bad and went pretty quickly. Pumping is still not going so well and at the beginning of the week I was only getting 6oz but managed to get up to 8oz by the end of the week. I started taking my fenugreek again mid-week so that seems to have made a difference. With any luck it’ll make more of a difference next week.
Timothy just handed me another check for "loveing me". This one is to "Rhonda" for "one thosend" Man, I'm gonna have to laminate these! He says he wants me to buy whatever I want.
Jocelyn continues to insure I don't get a full night's sleep, so she's doing her baby-job well. She's so freakin' cute that I can't be mad at her for long. I recently broke out all the boys' 3-6 month clothes and as it turns out there are plenty of summer clothes. The boys outgrew their 0-3s much faster so it was still summer when they were in 3-6s. Perfect! So she's got a pretty complete summer wardrobe, though the other day I noticed she was wearing PJs that said "baby boy" all over them. Oops! Ah well, she can't read.
Morgan had a great week at school, with 4 "excellent behavior" reports and one "good behavior". His teacher reports that he REALLY liked a book about bugs that she was reading at circle time, and kept jumping up and pointing to the bugs and sitting down again. The next day he also very much enjoyed "The Hungry Caterpillar", which is a book we have.
Timothy stayed home sick on Wednesday and when his teacher asked on Thursday why he was absent, he said that his tummy hurt a little but mostly it was because she yells too much!! So as soon as I walked in from work I had to spend 30 minutes calming down this poor teacher that was beside herself thinking she's traumatized him. I told her not to worry too much since he says I yell too much too. But anyway, I guess on Friday she spent a better part of the day asking him if she was yelling. ("Am I yelling now? Am I yelling now?"). I at least feel good about raising a boy with the balls to stick up for himself, even if he is a bit on the sensitive side!
Ok, well, my breakfast is here - poached eggs on english muffins with leftover potatoes that Joey made us for dinner on Friday - yum!!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
So many cute things in here! Especially love the checks and the baby girl in baby boy clothes.
