Crazy weeks the last two weeks. The week before last work was incredibly busy and I was late pretty much every night. I guess this did not go unnoticed (although, most of you will not be surprised by the fact that very little I do goes unnoticed), because this week on Wednesday my boss gave me a raise out of nowhere. Said he was impressed with me the week before and so he gave me a raise. I didn't even know that could happen! Then on Friday there was a freeze on salaries, which means I have a VERY smart boss who saw the writing on the wall that it was coming and he acted on it quickly. Just gotta love him for that.

Morgan's had a tough week. He visited his new pre-school 3 times and on the 3rd time Josh left him for 90 minutes with his teacher. The teacher has done a lot of special things just for Morgan, like a felt board with his "schedule" on it and a laminated picture book about going to school. Still, one big problem is that the hallway down to the pre-school room has one part where it slopes (like a ramp) and he HATES it and wants to be carried, but since the teacher can't carry him (the teachers walk all 10 kids back from the front of the school instead of parents dropping off at the classroom door), she and Josh had to practice dragging Morgan down the ramp while he screamed.

The next part of the routine is to put his sticker on the chart saying he's here that day, but he hates the sticker and tries to get it off his finger while the teacher forces his hand onto the chart. Then he has to put his backpack in his cubby, but he hates his backpack and wants nothing to do with it. Then he has to check his schedule to see what he does next. I don't know if he gets that part, but that was all Josh got to witness before leaving. When he returned Morgan was sitting paying attention to something the teacher was doing, so I assume he did not scream the entire time. The teacher (Miss Dana) did say he's not ready to stay the whole time and we should just do 90 minutes on Wednesday and Thursday and see how that goes. He doesn't go Fridays.

That means Wednesday is the first day of school! Monday both the boys have "meet and greets" with their teachers (at the same time, of course, but luckily you don't have to stay in each place for the whole hour, so Josh can split their time).

I got the kids some new school clothes, and then found a bunch of pants in Timothy's bureau and then more in the basement, so he now has about 20 pairs of pants between the sizes of 5 slim and 6 relaxed. Morgan has many pants as well, mostly jeans, blue sweats, and gray sweats. (Timothy has a good assortment of khakis and corduroys etc). Actually, they both have a lot of clothes. The only things we ever seem to be short on are socks and underwear. No idea what happens to those.

Timothy seems to be excited about kindergarten, though it's hard to tell. He knows that when he gets on the bus he has to find a seat right away and he can talk to his neighbor but no yelling. He's in PM kindergarten, so when the bus picks him up, should be just kindergarteners on it.
