We went to the Wapping Fair today. We got there just in time for the pig races, which I must say were hilarious. We wandered through the animal tents and nobody cried and all the kids at least pretended to look at the animals. Jocelyn wasn't extremely interested, but not disinterested either. One goat stepped up on his gate to try to get closer to her and she leaned her head into my shoulder and gave him the shy look, but she didn't scream and didn't hide her eyes. Morgan liked the sheep.
We walked around all the little craft selling stands and got Jocelyn a ribbon crown. We played some games - Timothy tried to shoot a basketball, both boys tried to throw bean bags into Sponge Bob's mouth (for that one everyone under 12 was a winner, so they each won a blow up hammer suitable for hitting each other with), and Morgan fished for ducks (winning a stuffed alligator for Jocelyn).
We got french fries for the kids and fried dough for us, and then Morgan watched the ferris wheel while Jocelyn and Timothy and I rode the merry go round. Jocelyn didn't cry! She's the first one we've had that didn't scream the whole time! She rode the horse for a bit and then was done so I held her the rest of the way. All in all quite a nice day. It's quite loud there and Morgan covers his ears a lot so it's hard to tell if he’s having fun, but all the way home he kept saying "did you have a fun time?" and when we pulled in the driveway he said "thanks, that was great fellas".
Not much for news from the week. I just finished all my homework - I had to cover one of Timothy's books, order too much crud from their fundraisers, and fill out the 8 million forms that came home on Fridays. Whew!
I've been having wicked heartburn lately - probably because I'm eating so much. I made a concerted effort to eat smaller portions yesterday and didn't have to take any Tums until the evening. So far that's working again today, and it's better for me anyway.
Rh- Did you send out pix when you sent the newsletters? I know you are just getting through uploading all the letters themselves, but would be cool to see the pictures that attend.
ReplyDeletefunny, I was thinking the same thing. I had/have a separate website of pictures and would send updates once a month. I think I have back to 2005 still posted (luckily a separate page for each month!) and could probably dig out the earlier stuff.
