Josh and I met 11 years ago today.  Eleven years seems like such a long time, but maybe that’s because I'm in denial about turning 30.

We got the report from the genetics doctor we saw.  As soon as I get out a dictionary and de-code the darn thing, I’ll let you know what it says.  Here’s an excerpt:

“Morgan is a handsome, dark-haired youngster who exhibited variations at emotional behaviors, such as spontaneous crying when he felt threatened by the physical examination, and other times somewhat flexible and more relaxed when sitting on his mother’s lap.  His standing height is 99.5cm, 50th percentile; weight 16.3k, 50th percentile; head circumference 54cm, at 3+ standard deviations (relative macrocephaly).

The cranium is macrocephalic with a broad, wide forehead and a widow’s peak.  The ears are normally formed and position.  The facies are otherwise nondysmophic.  The palate is adequate.  There are approximately 20 teeth erupted and the gums are healthy.  The neck is supple.  There is no thyromegaly.  The chest is symmetrical and clear and there was no heart murmur.  The abdomen is soft.  There is no hepatoplenomegaly or masses.  The spine is straight. The skin is clear of lesions.  The genitalia were not examined.  The arms and legs are proportional to body size.  The hands reveal digitalized thumbs with soft arms and a single palmar crease on the left.  His feet are normal with normal nails.  The neurologic examination revealed normal tone and strength for age, 1 to 2+ deep tendon reflexes and intact cranial nerves.  There were no lateralizing or localizing signs.”

I see the word normal was included once, so I'm choosing to beliece that’s a good thing.  Actually, I choose to believe normal tone refers to muscle tone, because I’ve been told before that Morgan likely has low muscle tone (i.e. a tendency to slouch) which I strongly disagree with because he has the best posture (significantly so) of all of us, so if he has low muscle tone, I must just be a puddle of goo with no actual muscle tone to speak of.
