Morgan had an excellent week at school. Here are a few stories from his teacher:
Tuesday:
Morgan had a great day today. He was playing jokes on me while I was working with him today. We were doing a ball drop machine as a reinforcer for correct answers. Well, the balls matched the colors of the holes that you drop them through on the top. Morgan kept taking the balls and pretending to put them in the wrong color holes, then looking at me and saying "no .... hahahah" and then when he put them in the right holes he would say "right ... hahahaha” It was so funny! We asked him "Did you go swimming in the water?" and he looked at me and said, "yes" in a very serious voice, as if he was having a flashback of being there or something. He knew exactly what I was talking about.
Wednesday:
He has been singing up a storm in class! Today he sang "Old McDonald" by himself at circle, then serenaded us with a second round of "What is the Weather". He has also been talking on the phone a lot. Oh, and he played very messy in shaving cream today which is a BIG deal because usually he just uses one fingertip to tap the shaving cream. I got him hooked when I loaded my hands up with shaving cream and clapped them together so it sprayed everywhere ... he laughed very hard, then grabbed his own pile to try it. By the end, he was playing and writing in lots of it! I will send you pictures later tonight.
Thursday:
Morgan had a really nice week this week. He did really well, especially considering he wasn't there last week, then Ellen wasn't there two days. He has been getting a real kick out of himself lately. We were watching a movie today and he wouldn't stop flapping, so I put him next to me and kept saying "Quiet hands" and then he would stop. Well, after about 3 or 4 times of me saying it, he would flap on purpose, then look at me and say, "quiet hands" and laugh because he told me instead of me telling him. Then there were bubbles on the movie, and he kept saying "bubbles ... pop!" and laughing, so I said "shh, time to be quiet" which he responded well to. Well, then we were sitting there and a few times he looked out of the corner of his eye at me and said, "shh, quiet" and laughed hysterically. He's so fun to have in class!
Isn't she just the sweetest teacher ever?
Timothy's had a good week too. His assignment from school is to try to read 500 minutes in the month of April. He gets to color in a soccer ball for each 20 minutes he reads. If he does all 25 balls, his classroom gets a credit at the book fair. Kind of cute. In June they have a poetry recital where each kid will get to recite a poem they have memorized. I just hope Timothy doesn't improv the word fart into his poem!! I'll get the looks from all the other moms and dads, the "oh, you're THAT mom" looks.
Timothy told me this week that he would never want to trade his mom and dad for any other mom and dad because we're the best ones in the world, and I'm the beautifulest mommy there ever was. Such an observant child!
I did 15 whole minutes of raking today before I gave up and decided to sit and read People instead. At least I did it outside so the boys could get some fresh air. Josh golfed this morning, and then this afternoon Timothy and I went to Target to get a gift for a little girl whose birthday party he's going to on Tuesday. It's at Build-a-Bear, so I think he gets to build a stuffed animal during the party.
