I know you're all jealous. I can tell. It's ok, you can admit that you're upset that I got a flowbee and you didn't. It's only natural. Love the flowbee! I gave Timothy a haircut yesterday with it - wasn't his favorite (due to the loud noise) but it certainly went smoother than most. He plugged his ears and sat still. Of course, he wasn't allowed to play video games until after the haircut, but I don't know what that could've had to do with it! I tried to suck in a few Morgan hairs while he was walking by, but he wasn't quite having it. Strange since Morgan likes the vacuum. It may have had more to do with the fact that he was busy with something or other and didn't feel like being detained. Maybe another time.
We had a great christmas, with the slight exception that I have an icky cold and didn't quite feel myself. Timothy was so cute about Santa. I must not have explained it right, because it seems that when I told Timothy Santa was coming, Timothy thought he was staying. In the morning I went up and got him up and told him santa came, letls go see. he came downstairs and looked at all the presents and said 'where is he? where is Santa?' It happened to be just that minute that my dad was on his way into the room and said "ho ho ho" on his way in. I was blocking Timothy's view, and in the moment it took him to look around and see it was grandpa and not Santa, he had a look on his face that I'll never forget. Some anxiety but mostly wonder and happiness, and then, of course, a look of mostly dissappointment but some relief when he saw it was grandpa.
Timothy played Santa most of the time. each time he said "Merry Christmas here, open your present" and insisted the same be said to him before he would open any. With Timothy, there are always rules to be followed. Morgan was not so into presents, but did hang out with us (or really just with grandpa, although I did get a quick visit) for most of the time. Ruby loved to open the presents, but my favorite look of the day was one gift where, upon openning, she sucked in her breath with excitement, making a little 0 with her mouth. Funniest part? It was a bath toy.
Christmas Eve was also fun. Timothy and Ruby took turns chasing each other across the house. Timothy wouldn't actually catch her, just run along behind saying "I'm gonna get you Ruby". Once to the edge of the kitchen, the two would switch direction and off Timothy would run. They also gave each other hugs and kisses, which was cute. And we did manage to coax the three of them and the three of us girls into one picture. Of course, I think everyone was screaming, but we were all in the same picture none the less.
I tried cleaning out some toys and books yesterday to make room for the new ones. I figured I'd donate them to birth to 3 since they're here twice a week and can pick them up! I didn't make it too far yet, since my cold had me pretty exhausted, but I finally almost slept through the night last night, so I have high hopes for today.
Merry Christmas everyone!
