May 5, 2007

Well I may have gone a bit overboard with the solids - Jesse gained 11oz this week!! By my estimate (of the difference between our scale and the doctor's scale), that puts him at 12 lbs - yay! He does tend to ebb and flow though with his gain, so possible the next week will be small. I must say, he FEELS heavier, that's for sure! His legs are starting to pudge up a bit. So far he's had bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, peas (NOT a fan), and applesauce. He HATED the peas but liked everything else. I have to try mixing the peas with some breastmilk to see if that helps. The solids haven't slowed down his nursing or increased his sleeping - oy - but I have capped him at 10oz a day while I'm at work because I can only pump about 9.5oz.

I pumped a bunch last weekend so was up this week, barely though because we are using the cubes of milk I made to mix with the solids and/or make cereal, so that's an extra 4-6oz a week.

But anyway, I ramble.

Jocelyn's had a cold this week and been pretty much covered in snot all week. She doesn't like to have her nose dripping so she wipes it with her hand all over her face and in her hair. She wakes up from naps with shiny skin from dried on snot. When she was sitting at the table tonight she said "Mommy - boogies! Tissue!" so cute. She says so many cute things. She likes to jump in Jesse's doorway jumper - she calls it swinging.

I managed to get out for a walk Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs and today. Today I took Morgan, Jocelyn, and Jesse since Josh and Timothy were out at the store getting us new cells phones (yay!). This was Morgan's first time out. I was nervous that he'd dart into the road so I used the wrist strap from the jogging stroller and attached it to him and he held on to the side. I couldn't walk as quick as usual (usually Timothy jogs to keep up) but I thought he did a pretty good job none the less.

Morgan had great days at school this week. The notes home from the teacher said he had great spontaneous language and such. He's growing and needed new shoes yet again (so Josh and Timothy got those while they were out).

We decided for Timothy's birthday that Josh and Uncle Joey will take him and 3 friends to a minor league baseball game. He's pretty excited. Josh arranged to have it say Happy Birthday Timothy on the big screen during the game. He asked for a Red Sox jersey for his birthday - so don't tell, but that's what I ordered for him.

Timothy and I broke out the Yoga Now - yoga cardia fusion DVD today. He comes by his lack of flexibility honestly anyway! We both enjoy it though so will try to work it into the routine more often. Jesse watched us from the exersaucer and didn't whine until the cool down, so we skipped that.

I broke in the chain saw today by taking out one of the rhododendrons out front. The whole garden needs to be wiped out and started over, but baby steps. The garden on the left that I cleared out last spring mostly stayed cleared and just needs to be turned and weeded and then we need to mulch.

How do we calculate how much mulch we need?

I guess that's about it from here. Nothing too exciting this week I don't think - or at least not planned!
