Took me a little while to get to my update this weekend - where does the time go? But right now crankmeister J is finally down for a nap and the princess is up in her high chair coloring (Josh showed me how you have to pull it away from the wall so she doesn't color the walls). She's quite a good colorer - she can do lines and circles! She gets good pressure on the crayon - makes a nice dark mark. The boys never could do that and Morgan still struggles with it.
I'm not sure Jocelyn has stopped talking since I wrote last week's update. My goodness that girl can chat. She feels the needs to tell you absolutely everything she's doing. If she gives bear a hug, finds her car, drops a cup - whatever, you better bet she'll be running in to tell you right away. Today I had to give her a bit of punishment. She was touching the toilet as I was trying to clean it and I kept telling her to stop and she kept touching it just the same so I dragged her out of the bathroom and closed the door. She threw a tantrum outside the door. When I came out she was crouched down looking at me. I gave her the silent treatment. Surprisingly effective. Eventually she couldn't take it any more (she must have lasted about 60 seconds) and started crying and saying she needed a hug. I told her to say sorry mommy and then she could have a hug. It took another minute or 2 before she consented, but eventually we got there. Upon hugs, everything was all better. So cute.
Jesse is gaining weight again. We gave him the rice cereal and it was going ok but today he's broken out again! Urgh!! So frustrating. I have a feeling that the cereal is what makes him gain and yet it's also what gives him eczema. He hasn't had trouble with any other food - and I've barely given him much cereal at all - just a little mixed in with his food one feeding a day. So we'll take a couple days off and try again. His legs are definitely getting meatier, which is sweet.
He's so cute though. Now he's finally started babbling again. I was worried because he had been babbling and then we noticed he had stopped and then yesterday he started up again with the babababa and dadadada. yay!
I worked out 6 days again this week. I'm getting there! IWe've been eating healthier too. Josh has been making lots of steamed veggies. I usually let Jesse suck on the end of an asparagus or something to keep him quiet during dinner. Friday I didn't have anything suitable because we were having corn on the cob so I handed him a chicken nugget to gum. Oops! He bit a piece off! So then I had to fish it out of his mouth and boy was he mad - MAD. I had to stop and nurse him just to quiet him down. Too funny. I had given him some Kix the night before, thinking he'd probably choke but he chewed them up and swallowed them down and opened up for more. The kid loves food!
