May 12, 2007

We had such a fun day! We went up and met everyone at Mandy's for the afternoon. Mandy made us wood grilled pizzas - very yummy! Then mom brought strawberries and we had strawberry shortcake for dessert. The kids all played nicely. Chase had a bit of a cold and wasn't really in the mood, but did pretty well I think. Jocelyn talked non-stop the whole time, and was all about Grandpa until Gramma brought her some candies. She LOVES candies. We tried making concrete foot mold things, but it didn't work out. Anyway, it was much fun to see everyone.

I'm very proud to say that I worked out 6 days this week, including today! I take Fridays off to rest my sore body. My mother's day present to me was new running shoes. They came today and are super cool! There's a sensor that goes in them and then a little thing that plugs into my iPod and it tells me how fast, how far, and for how long I'm walking/running. It's so neat!!! Apparently I walk at 3.5 mph and jog between 5-6mph. Today I went 3.41 miles in 45:45. I'm trying to get it up to an hour but am running out of neighborhood.

I'm less proud to say that Jesse didn't gain any weight this week. The cereal we had been giving him gives him eczema on his butt so I cut out the cereal and also he wasn't sleeping well so I moved his 2 meals to during the day and then just nurse him at night. So then his butt cleared up and he started sleeping better, but didn't gain anything! So frustrating. I had Josh give him cereal on Friday but today his butt rash is back. argh. We see the doctor Wednesday and I'm going to ask about giving him ground beef in order to get some calories into the kid. He eats very well. Like today he had big bowl of sweet potatoes for breakfast and then at Mandy's he had a couple ounces of avocado and then almost a whole banana. Then he nursed, I don't know, a gazillion times? Actually the nursing is a little less frequent these days - every hour or two while he's awake but he takes 2 naps, each 2-3 hours long. At night he sleeps about 4 hours and then 2 and 2. Twice this week when I got out of bed at 6 after feeding him he slept for almost 3 more hours.

Jocelyn is a talking machine these days. The funniest was Friday when Tim and Amy and their 18 month old son Ethan were over. Jocelyn kept calling him baby despite the fact that he outweighs her and is almost as tall. When he got on her little car, she came running across the room yelling "No baby! That's Jocelyn's!" hahahaha. Although she can't say L's so her name comes out Jocenyn. She was VERY protective of her toys and basically just followed Ethan around not letting him touch stuff. It was funny. He didn't seem to care much. This morning when she got up I said good morning Jocelyn and she said "princess". Oh, I said, good morning princess. She smiled. Her bear (Iovey) has taken on a persona. He greets us and also eats a good variety of foods. He enjoys dancing and has a squeaky high voice.

Jocelyn got loose with a crayon this week and we now have a well colored house. oy! I need to get out and get a magic eraser.

We listened to the Jack's Big Music Show CD on the way to Mandy's today. Morgan sang along, Jocelyn and Bear danced, Timothy had his iPod on.

Morgan had a so so week at school. We had gotten him new sneakers last weekend and got low tops since the high tops were annoying. But he took them off at school and then threw a fit about putting them back on. So he went back in the high tops and we'll have to find a new pair of those. At least we have the low tops for home.

Timothy says he wants a baseball jersey for his birthday, so that's what he's getting. He loves the Patriot's shirt I got him for Hanukkah and wears it regularly, so I think he'll like the Red Sox shirt too. (Mandy/Elisabeth - if you are looking for something for him, he goes through about 1 notebook a month making lists for his various sport games, so notebooks and pens would be put to quick use. Also we're low on nerf footballs, the full size kind, and hard baseballs).

I guess that's about it from here. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, especially mine.
