mmmmmmm 3 days weekends rock! I didn't get much done yesterday, but now I can start over with my list today! Though more than likely I'll do nothing again and it'll wait for next weekend - hee hee. Next weekend I'm actually taking off Fri and Mon, so another long weekend for me!
Last night we took everyone out for ice cream and to the school to play on the playground. It was Morgan's school so he knew where he was and went on the structure and down the slide by himself. Jocelyn was happy to go down the slides as long as someone caught her, so that was Timothy's job. I had Jesse in the sling and he mostly played with the strap on my camera and then he nursed and then we left due to excessive bugs. Usually mosquitoes are not that bad in CT but this year something about the winter kept birds away and now we have too many bugs.
So seriously everyone - Jocelyn does not stop talking EVER. Well, maybe while she's sleeping but that's it. And you can't just nod and smile - she waits for confirmation that you've actually understood her, or else repeats herself until you do. She narrates everything that she does whether anyone is there to hear her or not - it's too funny. While she's coloring she explains what she's drawing (circle circle, draw Timothy ...).
She also reads books. Today she was reading a cookie monster book and counting the cookies - one, two, circle, four, five, star ... Morgan touched her bear while in the car yesterday and boy did she read him the riot act! I didn't catch all of it - but something to the effect of no Morgan, you do NOT touch BEAR, it's JOCELYN's BEAR. She likes to make a bed for bear and then say shhhhh, bear's sweeping.
On the subject of coloring - Josh finally found some Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. We had a slight misunderstanding about where they would be located in the store and he wasted a good bit of time looking where the pens and crayons are - hahahaha. So anyway, I spent the last hour cleaning crayon off the walls and learned a few things so here are some tips for any of you that might be in that position soon.
A) it takes blue crayon off much more easily than black - just go ahead and throw out any and all black crayons ahead of time and you'll save your arms a workout.
B) ironically, it does not work well on pencil marks.
C) it works much better on an eggshell or semi-gloss, and not so great on flat - in fact it tends to take off a bit of paint after the extensive scrubbing.
D) it actually works super great on other stains - such as the cup of coffee that spilled in a splatter pattern all over the wall when you tripped on a shoe.
No rice cereal for Jesse this week, which means no rash and only a couple ounces of weight gain (better than nothing!). Since the cereals were not working out, we started him on yogurt (yobaby yogurt - generally not recommended until 9 months but what the heck, I threw caution to the wind). The yogurt is a big hit, and no rash. He eats well though. Yesterday he had an entire banana for breakfast and for lunch he had half an avocado and a 4oz container of yogurt. We may have given him a bite of our ice cream when we went out - shhhhh. He slept well last night - better than usual - from 10 to 2 and then til 5 and then til 7. His arms and legs are starting to look a bit meatier and his head growth is almost making those big flappity ears look proportional. On the downside - his head seems to be disproportionately large like the other boys! oh well, at least he fits in - hee hee
Josh and I just did a deep clean of the toy room (aka dining room) and bummer bummer big bummer upon opening the drapes found more mural work a la Jocelyn and the magic crayon. At least it was a blue crayon! We also busted yet another vacuum cleaner. We go through them like toilet paper. I think it's time to break down and get a Dyson.
Apologies to all you wood floor lovers but I find them annoying. They are impossible to keep clean! The best way we've found is a swiffer (wood floor edition) wet jet, but even that leaves a bit to be desired.
Seems like some other stuff happened this week but I just can't think of it. Guess that'll do for now then - enjoy the rest of the weekend!
