Happy 4th everyone!
Jocelyn said the funniest thing this week so I had to write before I forgot it. She was asking for fruit loops so I put her up in her chair and put some in a bowl for her and then went back to what I was doing. "Oh no" she says looking at the bowl. "What's wrong?" I ask. She looks up at me all innocent and says "the fruit loops need a drink." hahahahaha - so I put some milk on them and then she was happy: )
There's a new boundless playground (called boundless because it's made to be fully wheelchair accessible and built so that all types of kids can find something to play and have fun with) in town that just opened last weekend so we went today to try it out. It's really nice. It looks like pavement but it's that bouncy stuff, and then there is stuff that looks like bark mulch but it's also that rubber bouncy stuff. There are a bunch of sections - sand, music, little kid swings, big kid swings, little kid structure, big kid structure, etc. Both the swing sets have that full chair swing, so Morgan went in that and liked it very much. He also found a slide he liked (it had roller thingys all the way down so you didn't go too fast). He was very good about waiting his turn and not going if someone was in the way, but also not too shy such that he didn't get a turn. He really had such a good time and it was so fun to watch him enjoy himself so much.
Jocelyn also had a very good time. She tried everything and said hi to everyone. Every new thing she saw she looked at like it was the greatest invention ever. She flirted with all the parents and greeted all the kids - quite the little social butterfly. She liked the swing the least - enjoyed little pushes but didn't care for big pushes. Timothy ran off and made new friends as soon as we got there so we didn't see him again until we were leaving. There were a lot of people but it didn't feel crowded. When we left Jocelyn SCREAMED. I was convinced someone would think we were stealing her.
It's nice having a day off in the middle of the week! I had time for a long run today and managed to run 4.5 miles before I stopped to walk. I've been trying to break through the 4 miles barrier for weeks so this was pretty exciting. I went a lot slower than usual (took me 50 minutes to do 4.5 miles, so only a bit over 5mph) which seemed to be key in making it so far. I actually think I could have made it to 5 miles but had told Josh I wouldn't go more than an hour.
Timothy was very excited to watch the hot dog eating contest today. Weird kid. I guess the prior champion was defeated by an American who set a new world record. I guess it was a pretty darned exciting match.
Well we just discovered that another Wii game that we didn't know about came with our system when we bought it so we're off to see if it's any fun!
